Depends if the Traction control light being on means traction control is off or on. If it is ON no problem. Best to check for a bad switch.

That is the traction control light. If it comes on when you start and stays on there is a problem with the traction control system. If the check engine light is on the traction control light will also come on to let you now that it is disabled.

had my 2000 chev impala 3.8 liter ,traction control llight and abs light both go on the reset it and go right back on .so i replaced both sides of the bearing hub assembly this is connected the senser,so far so good.replaced it dec 21 2009 about 3 hours ago. because the assembly came appart when took off.

There is a fault in the system and it should be brought to a qualified technician for diagnostics. It could be anything from a simple fuse to a more serious defect of the traction control system. The only way to find out is to connect it to the appropriate code reader.
