Is the ABS light on too? These are inextricably linked systems, so you might want to run a diagnostic computer on the vehicle to pull up any fault codes, as one system can affect the other, and faults with the traction control aren't always with the traction control circuit.

ABS and Traction Control alert light stays on

Today, most new vehicles come with either an ABS or a traction control system. A problem in the ABS or traction control system is usually indicated by a warning light. When the ABS warning light is on, it means that the ABS has been shut down because of a mechanical or electrical failure.

Looking at buy this car but been told traction control light stays on. Is this a big problem?? Hyundai Grandeur XG 2000

Depends if the Traction control light being on means traction control is off or on. If it is ON no problem. Best to check for a bad switch.

Warning light on dashboard. With squiggly tire

That is the traction control light. If it comes on when you start and stays on there is a problem with the traction control system. If the check engine light is on the traction control light will also come on to let you now that it is disabled.

My traction control button stays on

There is a fault in the system and it should be brought to a qualified technician for diagnostics. It could be anything from a simple fuse to a more serious defect of the traction control system. The only way to find out is to connect it to the appropriate code reader.

Traction control

Traction Control system adjusts your throttle and braking automatically to help keep your car from slipping on wet/snowy roads. If the light flashes momentarily then that means it is doing the job properly. If the light flashes constantly or stays on then it indicates a problem with the traction control or ABS system and could pose a safety concern.
