Where are the locations of the crash sensors on a 2008 Ford Ranger?
Air bag light staying on, blinking code 44 on dash. Have extracted codes B2444 & B2445, & wont clear. Have replaced SRS module due to eccessive corrosion. Air bag light still on.

It is typically the job of the airbag module to sense when the vehicle is decelerating beyond the normal rate, and to deploy the airbags. If the module has suffered excessive corrosion, then this would typically mean that there is water ingress into the interior compartment. Have you also checked the condition of the wiring connectors and looms?
you will have to replace the Restraint Control Module to clear the error. Until then the airbag should not deploy in a crash. It should be located under the radio.
The air bag code 44 indicates that the air bag computer is not receiving a signal from the right front air bag sensor. This could be caused from defective wiring (loose wire or grounded through chafing) or the sensor being defective.

TROUBLE CODE CLEARING
1. Follow the diagnostic procedures to service the fault condition flashing on the air bag indicator prior to code clearing.
2. Cycle the ignition switch to OFF and then to RUN.
3. Observe air bag indicator prove-out (six ? two seconds) followed by diagnostic trouble code (52-85) flashing completely one time.
4. Locate the Diagnostic "Trouble Code Clear" Connector (grey connector). located underneath the glove compartment, left side (06010) containing Circuits 631 (T/R) and 57 (BK).
5. Use a jumper wire to short Circuit 631 (T/R) to Circuit 57 (BK) or to another good ground. This short must be made after the diagnostic trouble code flashes completely one time, but before the warning light stays on continuously.
6. Hold short until air bag diagnostic monitor tone sounds (approximately five seconds).
7. Release short on Circuit 631 (T/R) to Circuit 57 (BK). This short must be released within 25 seconds after the diagnostic monitor tone sounds.
Diagnostic trouble code is now cleared from memory. Next highest priority diagnostic trouble code stored (if one exists) will begin flashing.
The codes and clearing proceedure above are to be used as a guide, NO claims are implied as to the correctness or accuracy of either.
This is a code 46 LH Crash Sensor - Not Mounted to Vehicle Properly. Often there is a poor contact on one of the wiring connectors. Some of the problems can happen from a poor connection where everything connects under the drivers side seat.

All Ford codes are the same, as far as I know there is no center sensor, there are two on either side of the grill.
Pinpoint Test R: Diagnostic Trouble Code 44 — RH Radiator Primary Crash Front Air Bag Sensor Not Mounted to Vehicle Properly
Normal Operation NOTE: Circuit 618 (BL/W) is grounded to the side of the RH radiator primary crash front air bag sensor case, and the case is grounded through the bracket to the vehicle at its mounting point.
The air bag diagnostic monitor (14B056) measures the resistance between pin 20 (circuit 618 [BL/W]) and pin 3 (circuit 57M [BK]), the air bag diagnostic monitor reference ground. If the air bag diagnostic monitor measures a difference of more than 2.0 ohms between pin 20 and pin 3, it will flash diagnostic trouble code (DTC) 44. Possible Causes
High resistance on pin 20 (circuit 618 [BL/W]) to ground can be caused by:
A poor connection due to loose mounting, dirt, or corrosion at the RH radiator primary crash front air bag sensor bracket mounting location.
An open or damaged wire in circuit 618 (BL/W) from pin 20 of the air bag diagnostic monitor connector to the RH radiator primary crash front air bag sensor connector.
An open circuit inside the RH radiator primary crash front air bag sensor.
I was unable to locate code 31 in my book here is a copy of the codes. looks like you just need a fuse for #51. this may fix 31 as well.

the flashing is a code, you need to get a pen and a piece of paper and decode this. It is a two digit number the first set of flashes is the first number so lets say it flashes 3 times and then pauses for 3 to 5 seconds your first number would be 3 and then after the pause it blinks 4 times that would be your second number... so your code would be 34. anyways here is a list of the code meanings so after you count the two set of flashes and get your code compare it here

Seems to be a very common problem with Ford. The wiring harness beneath the drivers seat contains the sensors for the airbag system. Go under the drivers seat and secure all the wires and clips. This makes most error lights for the airbags go away. Hope this helps and good luck!
