Try looking at the theromstat housing and check it very close for a hair line crack either when the engine is cold or hot. They have had problems with the housing getting a small hair line crack and leaking and getting air in the system. Also keep a close eye on the coolant and make sure its clean and full if there is any air in the system it wont heat great at idle when you are going down the road or idle it higher you have more coolant flow thus making it hotter.

I have no heat in my 2004 mercury mountaineer and i have lights that do what they want ,,what is going on with this

number of possibilites for no heat.

1. Your engine thermostat is broken and stuck in the on possistion. In the winter months, if its stuck in the open posistion, the vehicle may never get warm enough for the heater to blow hot air (i had this problem once, 13 degrees outside and even tho we had been driving for an hour, not a single bit of warm air... fixed instantly with new thermostat) this is a cheap repair

2. you have a clogged/broken or something has happened to your heater core, it is located in the dash somewhere and hot coolant flows into it. This is not terribly expensive, but labor cost may be a bit high, sometimes there not easy to get to

3. and least likely is that your heater door wont open. Does your a/c still work fine? if yes, if you leave the ac on, and turn it from cold to hot, does it stay exactly same temp or cold? or slightly warmer? if it stays the exact same tempature of cold and you cant tell that anytinh has changed, the door that closes the ac and opens to heater could be stuck/broken, etc. or the cable or electric wire controlling it could be bad..

that concludes 3 reasons you could be without heat, as far as your electrical goes, I would make sure all your fuses are in good, otherwise, who knows, electrical in cars is a whole nother ball game

1999 jeep cherokee sport heater problem. Air just blows warm and not hot. Gets warmer when stepping on the gas, but still goes back to warm and then cold.

Check the coolant level in the over flow tank/ bottle under the hood. You may find that the coolant tank is empty or very low, causing the engine to also not have enough coolant to circulate in the heater core that provides heat to the passenger area. Just a simple solution for now.

4.6 liter has one heater hose warmer than the other. may be plugged core,or is ther a fuse to climate control switch?

Look for a heater valve on one of the hoses if there is no valve i would say its a plugged heater core.

AC blows cold while moving, and gets warmer while I'm stopped

There are two fans behind the radiator. One is suppose to begin running when the AC is turned on. The other is to cool the radiator when it gets too warm. Raise the hood with the engine running and AC "on"and see if at least one fan is running.

96 Jeep Grand Cherokee will not blow out hot air

It's possible you are not getting enough coolant flow to your heater core. Try pulling the hoses off the core, blowing it out with air compressor, fill with water and blow out again. Try this about five times and see what happens. Alot of times these cores will plug up or have restricted flow. They will blow warm at low speed but it won't flow enough hot coolant through to stay hot on high blower speed.
