Horn on 2006 Dodge Stratus does not work. What do I do to fix it?

I would say a new horn

Put battery voltage directly to it
& see if it works

If it made any sound-- how could it be a fuse ?

If it was a fuse, nothing would happen & a new
fuse wouldn't do anything, until you found & fixed
the reason a fuse failed

My horn WILL NOT work

Where are you connecting the tester to? If you are connecting one lead to the negative terminal on the battery and the other to the horn wire and it lights up try connecting a wire from the horn housing (bare metal) to the negative battery terminal and attach the horn wire to the horn and try it. if that works the ground path from the battery to the horn mounting place is broken somewhere. you may have to run a negative wire to the horn mounting place to make it work properly. Hope this helps.

Why is there no spark from spark plug 1995 k1500 silveraldo

1995 silverado has a distributor, remove the the distributor cap, make sure the distributor spins with the engine. also make sure the ignition rotor is not burned out or have a hole were it makes contact with the cap. also make sure the cap has a good carbon inside to make contact with the rotor, at this time get a screw driver, put it on the end of the wire from the coil to the cap, don't touch the metal part of the screwdriver, it will shock you if good, so put it at 5/16 from any metal on the engine, bracket, alternator , thermostat housing no matter, some one turns the engine over, check to see if the coil produces a spark, if the rotor turns, if ok it should have spark on all the wires, if it has no spark, remove the wire from the ignition coil and check if you have spak at the coil, if you have no spark, try getting a wire lead, connect it from the battery ground on one end, a screw driver on the coil to check for spark, and the other end of the wire with the key on, touch the - negative plug on the coil, that should produce a spark, if not spark yet, make sure you do have power at the coil with key on, if you do and it doesn't produce spark, replace coil. if it does spark but it is weak or yellow in color, replace coil. if coil is fine, replace distributor module,

Replace horn 2007 jeep grand cherokee

  • 1Buy a horn kit. Direct replacement kits for the Jeep Grand Cherokee models will have only one horn, but many aftermarket kits consist of two horns.
  • 2Locate the original manufacturer's horn. The horn for the Jeep Grand Cherokee is mounted under the right turn signal behind the front bumper. The easiest way to access it is from underneath the front of your Jeep.
  • 3Disconnect the power connector from the horn, unscrew the mounting bolts with a socket wrench and remove the original horn. If you are installing a factory replacement, you can simply attach the old wiring harness to the new horn and mount it in the original location. However, if you are installing two horns, you will need to find a sturdy location with minimal vibrations.
  • 4Splice the original pair of wires to the two horns according to the instructions for the new horns. The kit should include the connectors that you will need. Generally, you will splice a Y connection to each original wire to produce two pairs of wires that are connected to a new wiring harness. You will then connect each harness to one of the new horns.
  • 5Test the new horns to ensure they work.

*I've done this myself on a few of my Jeeps, these directions are the simplest though, but do not take into account any "issues" . For the simplest fix, i would by a replacement horn (same year and model) from a breakers and install, if you're brave you can buy a cheap one form amazon or ebay.

How do you replace the horn on a 1995 Chevy Cavalier?

if it is infact the horn and not the wiring you can take off the old one and replace it with one that is working.
you can test a horn using a car battery and 2 wires.
take the 2 wires and attatch to either post or connection spot on the horn then put on wire to the positice and one to the negative. if it doesn't work the first time reverse the wires and try again. if it doesn't work either time you will need ot go get a new horn.

Indicators not self cancelling & Horn not working

I had the same problem. Horn not working and indicators not self cancelling.
After removing the steering wheel I found that the central two pronged collet, that engages with the steering wheel and drives the horn contact slipring and indicator cancellation, had worn down its prongs. this had caused the horn wires to stop rotating and they had been snapped by the motion of the steering wheel.
the ideal solution would be to replace the collet and horn wires but I managed to repair both

Horn doesn't work in my Mitsubishi Mighty Max Pickup

First could you do a couple of test to confirm what is actualy wrong? You will need to buy a test light/probe to confirm power to the horn etc,the tester is cheap and a good addition to any self diagnosis you do on the vehicle.Try running a wire from the horn positive terminal directly to the positive side of the battery to make sure the horn actualy works. Also make sure it is securely bolted to the car,not loose as its bolted down tight to give the horn the earth it needs to work.If horn doesnt work when directly connected to battery you will need to replace it and problem solved but if it does work then you will have to check the power to the horn button cant remember exactly but I think its the centre of the steering wheel.Make sure the wire coming through the centre has power.Let me know how you go and if problem still exists let me know.Horn is usualy located at the front of the vehicle either behind grill or in the engine bay near to the headlights.good luck.
