It can be a few things, first check your timing belt. If your timing belt is fine, check to see if your car has a voltage regulator of some sort and make sure it is functioning. If that is ok than you'll want to think about changing the ECM. Good luck!

Reason for no spark would be ...

Bad crankshaft position sensor or distributor pickup (Sends pulse signal to ignition module and/or PCM that is necessary to trigger the ignition coil(s)).
Bad ignition module (controls firing of ignition coil(s), may have anintermittent open in circuitry that causes loss of spark, hard startingor sudden stalling, usually when hot)
Bad ignition coil(s). Ignition coil creates high voltage to fire thespark plugs. On engines with a distributor, a bad coil will preventspark at all the spark plugs. On engines with a distributorlessignition system or coil-on-plug ignition, a bad coil will only affectone or two cylinders depending on the application. This may make theengine hard to start, but it will run on the remaining cylinders thatare firing.
Cracks or carbon tracks inside distributor cap or on rotor (allows spark to short to ground before it reaches the spark plugs).
Bad spark plug wires (if wet, cracked, burned or internal resistanceexceeds specifications, can interfere with good spark and make enginehard to start).
Fouled spark plugs (if the electrodes are contaminated with deposits, spark may short to ground before jumping gap causing misfires. Can makeengine hard to start and run poorly. If plugs are wet when removed, itmeans they are not firing or engine is flooded).

Distributor cap firing sequence

Set the crankshaft so number one piston is about to fire and the distributor rotor arm will be pointing to the number one distributor cap segment - connect the number one spark plug lead to this.

Note the direction of distributor rotation and each lead in the firing order should be connected to each segment in that direction...

1986 chevrolet celebrity i have no fire to the coil from the switch is my problem in the steering column because the column is loose and shakey

If you are not getting spark at the coil, then you're coil may need replaced. Also, pull the distributor cap and check the cap on the inside as well as the rotor. If you have not recently tuned up, then I suggest replacing the spark plugs, spark plug wired, (coil wire should come with them); the coil; distributor cap and rotor. When doing the spark plugs and wires, start with one, and replace the plug, then the wire for that plug - do this one at a time - do not take them all off at once, unless you have a book that shows the firing order. (Having a book for any vehicle is a good idea). Please let me know if you have any further questions, or need further assistance.
In addition, if this does not suffice - replace the starter relay. If this is blown, the car won't even turn over.

MY HONDA DIED ON THE ROAD AND IT TURNS OVER BUT NO SPARK TO THE ENGINE... MY MECH IS HAVING A HARD TIME LOCATING THE PROBLEM...

Needs to check and make sure timing belt is not broken, if that checks good, more then likely it's going to be the ignition control module, sit in the distributor, also have him ohm ignition coil. but more then likely if timing belt is good, ignition module.

1997 mercury villager i have spark and fuel, changed wires, cap, rotor, and plugs.the car ran good yesterday, moved it and went to go somewhere last nite and turns over but dosent start.

could be distributor. remove cap and rotor and slotted wheel. look for brown dust covering optical sensor from bad bearing. If yes, replace distributor. It triggers spark and fuel injection.

I have no spark at plugs coil has good spark

If you have spark at the coil then you have a good coil. You can't measure Ohm at a spark plug since it is alway open at the gap. But you can OHM measure a spark plug wire at both end. If you have nothing mean your wire is bad. You can swap one more wire to confirm a bad wire. If your wire is not bad then I recommend to replace both rotor and distributor cap. Good luck in locating the problem.

No sparks from spark plug

When was the last time the spark plugs were replaced? They sell an "Engine starting fluid" that you spray directly into your air intake hose to aid in the occasional start-up problem. Have used it before, works very well.
