1999 Volvo S70 Stalls at stop signs and traffic lights

This is a strange code that doesn't appear to have one definitive reason, it's a bit of "you have a bit of a problem, but we aren't sure". Just Answer dot com mechanic says it is the MAF Sensor.

a simple test here is to idle the car, and put your foot on the brake
if it stalls then the problem is a faulty brake booster
every body sits at lights /stop signs with their foot on the brake not realizing it and miss that bit of evidence in determining a problem
check for vacuum leaks ( transmission actuator hose, vent controls) run fault codes to see if there are problem sensors

If the light is on there is a problem and you need the system scanned for a fault code.

You need a new Vehicle Speed Sensor.

Sounds like your rotors are warped,, if you installed new disc brake pads and DID NOT turn the rotors.. there is a good chance they DO need turning...

Have the throttle positioning sensor checked for that sounds like the problem you are having with yours

does this model have an ETS on it? Electronic throttle system. I could need a new throttle body. Sometimes the software goes bad and it will give the symptoms you described.

Have tried getting quality gasoline at a reliable station? It sounds like water in your fuel system. Add a couple bottles of Iso-Heet fuel system dryer everytime you fill up the next few times, and that should cure it.

you prob have to check your idle control its expensive $185.00 part only.

i have 311,000 on my 1999 Volvo S70-GLT, and everytime i turn on the defrost, it smells of prestone? how do i fix this problem myself? I have already tried the Stop Leak,,, did NOT work
