My jaguar 2012 is refusing to start and is writing 'steering colum lock'

Sounds like the battery was disconnected for too long and the ECU has dropped the code. You will need to get it to a Land Rover shop to get it reset (or find a mobile specialist to come to you)

So, I was guessing the prob was in the steering wheel lock after a few ... The problem could be either or both - replace BOTH to be sure you ...Missing: clk350

if they tried to pull the wheel lock located in the steering colum. they may have damaged the key sensor that read you security codes off the key. which means you`ll need to replace the key sensor in the colum. Unless they pulled a wire off under the steering colum. look down the steering colum and up underneath and see if there are any plugs out. PS some cars are designed of extra accessories which case you may find a few plugs away from the colum that aren`t connected to any thing these won`t be the issue but.

do you have smart lock? picture of a red hand in instrument panel? im sure they do. If so ****** in park hold key to start position & hit dash upwards & inwards on the left hand side of the steering colum if the problem is the smart lock module it will start. Common prob with fords & that is the cheap fix it will work every time you have the problem

Its probably something in the harness going up the steering column to the key switch.

Smart lock? do you have a picture of a red hand on instrument panel? With falcons quite common. Turn & hold key @ start posision, Hit dash upwards on left side of steering colum, If start = faulty smart lock module. I don't know if expodition has smart lock but probably does

theres some physical defect in steering colum and wheel/brake area--start doin an inspection--get a haynes book at a parts store or go to chiltons online or library

ther should be a steering wheel lock in the colum that engages when the vehicle is shut off . if you slid into the ditch and your wheels are turned or ther is a lot of presure on the wheels or colum then the lock wont disengage( the lock is jambed up because of the presure on it) try to remove the presure on the wheels and pull opposite on the steering wheel. if you get rid of enough presure on the lock it should turn again

thet might be the cable coming from the shifter to the steering colum that needs to be adjust by the center console
