We have since replacing slave had a reverse gear grind, replace slave again and even replaced with a oem , still grinds have shimed as dealer said could be answer, replaced master cylinder too, and went over the hydrolic system completely and still grinds when put in reverse

Does the car want to pull when sitting still in gear with your foot on the clutch? If so, I would say that your clutch is not fully engaging and could be the cause of your grinding when changing gears. If not then I would think the clutch is operating fully and the synchros are worn and need replaced. But either way, with metalic fluid being in the slave cylinder dust boot, the slave cylinder needs changed.

bleed the slave, it has air in it.

Hopefully you got a warranty with the clutch job, so I would take it back to that shop first. If you have someone else work on the truck the first shop is off the hook for responsibility. Its possible the clutch has failed, or you have developed a new problem.

Sounds like it was being forced before and through out the syncro to the gear, not a hard thing to fix but very time consuming.

First of all I think I should say that clutches do not make grinding noises - but transmission gears do.
However, a clutch that is not disengaging properly can make the gears grind when trying to shift from one gear to the next. Also a common source of noise is the clutch throwout bearing. This will make a "grinding" or "growling" noise any time the clutch pedal is depressed. In either of these cases, the only solution is to replace the clutch, throwout bearing, pressure plate and pilot bushing. These all usually come in a clutch kit. If you have an hydraulic clutch with an internal slave cylinder it is recommended to replace the slave cylinder as well and also the flywheel on on vehicles. I'm sorry I cannot be more specific because you did not mention what type of vehicle we are talking about here.

OF FLUIDE AND NOT ACTIVATING THE SLAVE CYLINDER THAT ACTUATE THE CLUTCH
MOST TIME THE SLAVE CYLINDER IS LEAKIG AND NEED REPLACMENT YOU ALSO NEED TO BLEED THE AIR OUT AFTER REPLACING

Hydralic Clutch Slave Cylinder, Or Slave Driver Is Bad, Fix Soon Or The Fluid Will Leak, And Destroy Your Clutch Disk.

Loosen the starter bolts and push it away / reposition it farther from the flywheel (circumference) then retighten the bolts. Then try it again. It is rare that a rebuilt starter is defective but... it does happen.
