If you checked the two things I mentioned than the next step is to check for codes. This will need to be done with a high end scan tool. Once you have the codes post them here and I will see what I can do to help.

Double check to make sure the abs harness from the new wheel bearing is plugged in. If it is unplug it and make sure the pins in the other connector are not bent. To very common problems that are quick to check out.

SOURCE: GMC 2003 Yukon XL left turn signal works

Hi, I think your flasher has separate relays for right and left. It is not a normal flasher (has 10 pins), but it is plugged into the fuse panel under the left side dash. Try replacing that, or if you have a voltmeter you could check the flasher socket for a proper signal from the switch. There should be power on pin C of the socket when the left signal is clicked on (key on). It has to be the switch or the flasher as I have looked at everything downstream from there. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

2003 GMC YUKON XL SLT need drawing of wheel bearing assembly showing ABS connections top and bottom

You need to find someone with a scanner like autozone, carquest etc; that will scan the code for free, chances are the wheel bearing the person put in has a bad wheel speed voltage output, this is comon in cheaper repladement wheel bearings, try to stick with Gaylord WBI bearing/hub assy, they seem to be the best for your money. a Scanner can run code and unfortunately no you can't unhook battery to clear it, and as far as connector at wheel it is a 2 wire connector and should have a lock tab you hold out with a small screwdriver while pulling apart...Hope this helps you

ABS light stays on

Hello
Whenever the ABS warning light comes on in the instrument cluster and it stays on it means the systems electronic control module (computer) has detected a problem in one or more of the inputs to the module, an ABS fault code is present as long as the ABS light is on. So what must be done to correct this? You must have the ABS electronic control module scanned with a special tool to read the fault code, then a trained technicain will diagnose and repair the defective part or wiring. Most times this is a wheel speed sensor (one for each wheel) that gives an erratic signal. While the light is on all you have is regular non-ABS brakes.

Can bad hub bearings make the abs and tc light to come on in a 2003 gmc yukon

Absolutely YES! The bearing and hub assembly contains the wheel speed sensor which is used by the Antilock Brake System (ABS) and the Traction Control (TC) system to see when a wheel is trying to lock up and cause skidding. The ABS will release the hydraulic pressure to the brake on that wheel and the traction control will reduce engine speed to prevent the wheel from locking up or causing you to spin out.
Many GM vehicles also commonly have problems with the wiring harnesses to the wheel speed sensors that can cause this same problem. The computer does not know WHY it cannot read the speed sensor signal. It only knows that it is not getting the signal and this is why the light is turned on. Before paying the BIG BUCKS for a wheel bearing and hub assembly, it would be wise to make absolutely certain that the problem is not being caused by a fault in the wiring harness. I have seen many mechanics automatically replace the wheel bearing only to find out that the problem still exists because they did not take the time to DIAGNOSE the problem. The fault code description says "Wheel Speed Sensor CIRCUIT fault." They see "speed sensor and automatically replace the sensor without actually checking the circuit. Not a problem unless you are the customer having to PAY for this type of guess-work!!!

There are wiring harness repair kits available for MOST GM vehicles just for this purpose.

I have included pictures of the bearing and hub assembly and the wiring harness kit to help you understand what we are talking about here.

Note the electrical connector sticking out of the hub assembly. This is the wires to the speed sensor. In the other picture, the connector at the end of the wiring harness is what plugs into the connector in the hub assembly. The other end of it gets spliced into the main vehicle harness in the engine compartment, after cutting the original harness out.

ABS stays on a 2001 GMC Jimmy

This is a common issue, and is pretty easy to fix. There are ABS sensors on the wheels, and you have a bad one. Usually the wires become corroded, and are easy to spot. The unit is on the back side of the wheel assembly.

Front end

It is a hub assembly, each wheel has one. If you have play, are getting a roaring noise, or have an ABS light on, these are all symptoms of a bad bearing.
