Hi there please check all ground /negative wires from battery to engine and chassis are secured firmly and check all contact points and wires for corrosion , have the battery tested although new.The next time the problem reoccurs remove battery and fit fully charged battery if this resolves your issues electrical wires and components should be fine
Any corrosion or loose connections can cause power loss in the circuit . Have the alternator output tested to make sure also .
It wouldn't make sense of a fusible link in that main cable when power is always needed, there won't be one. In hot or ground cables. I suggest you check the connection at the starter be clean and tight then see if will start. If not, most likely you will need to remove the starter and have it checked. I'd try another solenoid before that, but first try jumping across the solenoid with a jumper cable on the terminal posts with switch on. If it cranks, solenoid is bad.

the starter should be replaced. The solenoid is kikcing the pinion out but there is no contact being made to turn the starter motor. I have the exact same truck and before i changed the starter used the old starter tap trick. Tap the starter casing with a hammer and it should start turning again. hope this was helpful for you. Good luck.

When u try to start the engine, do the lights on the dash board turn off and come back when u release the key. If the do the battery connections are loose or the battery needs charge. If u start the engine and the lights don't turn off they stay lit something is wrong with the starter or the relay for the starter not working
