Took out radio and have the four wheel drive and rear window wiper, hatch units unplugged from dash and not yet put the radio back in either the heater works when turned all the way to right but cool to same temp anywhere else on the # settings and ac button when pushed just blinks now and wont kick on the ac.
Did you check the cables/wires on the AC controls behind the dash? Make sure none are loose, and/or the wires are all the way seated. If it's computer controlled, you might lookup the instructions on resetting the computer. Some you can just disconnect the battery for five minutes, others that causes issues for.
Good luck and let us know if it helps.

The four wheel drive systems in these vehicles are simple. The push button controls the four wheel drive computer. The computer tells the encoder motor (on transfer case) to shift. When the transfer case shifts there is a vaccum switch on the transfer that is activated which sends vaccum to the accuator under the battery. The accuator pulls a cable to lock the front axle in. This covers all s series trucks and suv's with push button four wheel drive but not with auto or all wheel. Now to answer some questions. If your push button is lit up but will not go in to four high you should try to reset the four wheel drive computer. To reset pull the courtesy light and atc fuses for sixty seconds install fuses then cycle key on and off 5 times. If your transfer case shifts but your front end does not lock in check for vaccum at the switch on the transfer case in and out. If no vaccum out replace switch motormite number 49315 at parts store. If you have vaccum out check accuator.

It sounds like the encoder motor. That's the black plastic box on the driver's side of the transfer case. But just to make sure, the control module for the encoder motor is located behind the passenger side kick plate (inside the vehicle, passenger side, where your feet would be, outside side). Disconnect it for a few seconds and then reconnect it. If the problem still exists, you will have to repair or change your encoder motor. I grabbed one at a scrap yard for less than $100.00.

if it is electronic there is probably something wrong with the wiring..
but if it is manual...it might be the actuator........

The first thing I would look at is the shift rod on the transfer case. If I remember correctly, it is on the drivers side and is a rod aboutsix inches long and has two ends that basically pop into rubber gromets. If that rod is bent in any way, or has come loose of the gromets, it will not shift into or out of the four wheel drive. If yours has electronic four wheel drive, the electric acutator could be out or going out. you should be able to remove the rod and simply move the switch by hand on the transfer case. It will get you out of 4 wheel drive until you have the ime to diagnose the electronics at least. It has happened to both my 1994 and 1999 S-10 blazers.
