SOURCE: Replacement of timing belt for 2004 Hyundai Elantra

Just the belt if that is all you need. I would replace all the other belts as well. The Water pump pully has to come offYou can visual the pump better at that time. The easiest way to get the pully back on and off is to remove the Power steering resevoir and transaxell mount in fron middle. Jack the engine up as high as you can get it. Put a block under the pan when jacking to spread the push force. this will tilt it back and up so the pulley will stay ion the water pump nub. It is a two piece pully.

SOURCE: How to replace serpentine belts 99' Hyundai Elantra.

you might need to get a prybar or something such long, and try to pry it off the belt, it should go easy right away. It is a spring-inside assembly, and won't brake. There also could be a 3/4 hole in it, look from a side. It's for middle size ratched, it can be used to loosen the tensioner from serp. belt.

Hyundai Elantra 1999 timing issue

It's a '99 Elantra, have you ever replaced the timing belt? It is a belt not a chaing, so it is very much should have the belt changed. After 13 years if you haven't done the belt yet now appears to be the time to change. I have an '05 and we changed it over a year now.

Good luck!!

Put on scan and said number 2 misfire. changed plugs and wires. light came back on and engine shakes

First you will have to make sure that you are getting spark at that cylinder. There are so many causes that will make a car misfire, and the correct diagnostic will save money. Camshaft sensor. defective injectors, not enough compression to that cylinder etc. have it check throughly before investing more money.

2000 Hyundai Elantra--No Cruise Control, etc.

there are alot of harnesses to unplug.they missed a few by the sounds of it.
the cruise control is a cylinder that is vacuum operated and connected to the throttle cable.
check the vacuum lines and the wiring and make sure no wiring has been damaged installing the new engine.look for a plug that has clean looking pins,as the plug on an 8 year old car is clean on the inside.
