I have a '96 Hyundai Sonata GL. The passenger side door is stuck. Nothing is caught IN it... been trying to get it opened...wont work from the inside/outside. The door IS unlocked and still nothing. The rods from the door handle inside of the door seems to be fine....door handles on the both inside and outside are both perfect.
I have no idea what is going on. I was thinking that possibly the power locks just burnt out in the door and are now effecting.
1.Does that sound like a possiblility?
2.If so, how do I fix it?
3. If NOT, then what else could it be?!
Thanks so much!!!
The door mechanisms give trouble
need to eyeball the internals
and inspect the internal works of the door
from drivers side remove the passenger seat
undo the door card as best without ripping it apart
if damage is possible source the same colour door card
SOURCE: passenger door wont open
Gonna have to try to remove door panel and access the rod that runs from interior handle to lock mechanism, or try to unlock door from outside with a slimjim tool.
SOURCE: right side passenger door
inside door handle or linkage is broken ,youll have to take inside door skin off, inspect whats damaged and replace

took car to hyundai.seems you have to drive it like a little old lady to get the monitors to reset.I cant drive like that,so I spent 40 bucks to have them do it.

dear friend-this is a tricky one but it works, roll the window down.remove the outside strip.push the widow aside and look inside for the door lock, take a piece of wire and make a hook on one,use the hook to unlock vehicle.
Before you replace anything, inspect the connector pins in both the driver's door switch and the passenger door switch. If you don't find any problem with these connector pins, replace the driver's door control switch.

wen i am driveing the dool lock is going up and down
Hi I have exactly the same problem only worse... mine is the drivers side door, which is not only inconvenient but also dangerous as I can not get out in a hurry, I exit via the passenger door. great amusement for everyone at the servo when I stop for fuel.
Would be happy to hear if anyone fixed theirs yet... driving me insane.
