You may have no power to the plug, that is the common reason, check plug pin number 16, it should have 12 volts present. See diagram below.

My 2000 lincoln ls is showing E on the dash after changing the engine and several sensors and pigtails. How do I fix this?

You have probably tried pushing the reset button on the dash and you do not have the OBD-ll scan tool or you would have erased it. Most mechanics offer free readings to try and get your business. Ask him to please erase your codes and go from there.

How to check ciol circuit wire in 2004 lincoln ls 3.9

The bad coil is a staple of the LS. The best thing to do is to replace all 8 coils and plugs as the OBD is not particularly reliable for tracking down the misfire. If one is going and is bad enough to throw a code, the others likely are not far behind. One bad coil makes the others work harder.

Number 4 cylinder missing or loose spark plug wires. Where are they

First, if you would like help with your Lincoln, it would be really helpful if you were to mention WHICH ENGINE your Lincoln is equipped with. There were 2 different engines available for that year.

Second, if you are looking for spark plug wires on your 2005 Lincoln LS, you are in reverse...there are none. Your Lincoln is equipped with Coil-On-Plug (COP) ignition. Each spark plug has an individual coil mounted on top if it.

What, exactly are you trying to fix?

If you are trying to chase down an OBD-2 code P0304, there are a WHOLE LOT of possible causes for that code. However, on your vehicle, loose/missing/damaged spark plug wires is NOT one of them.

My 2003 Lincoln LS V8 is losing power when i accelerate and makes a little clicking sound at the same time underneath the engine it seems like. The only thing on the dash is a check engine light. what do I...

Must read codes off of the obd-II computer using a scanner for obd-II so that you can know which system is being flagged. This is the first step.

May try to take it to autozone or advance auto parts to have them read the codes for free.

Or, you could purchase your own scanner at Sears or Walmart or your local parts store in order to read the codes yourself, and clear any that are intermittent.

If it's a hard code, as you describe, the scanner will come in handy.

Good luck on this diagnosis.

Is there a way on a 2004 Lincoln Ls to get error codes without plugging into computer? I had a Nissan that would give you codes if you turned the key back and fourth a few times. Do Lincolns have anything...

Any car built in 1996 for sale in the U.S. and later was required to be OBD II compliant. This meant that you need a scan tool with the ability to plug into the OBD II port. Some auto parts stores will do this for free, depends on where you live.

You can get an ACTRON scanner from Sears. The regular or plus version ($179). Harbor Freight sells scanners too.
But, you can go to AUtozone or most other stores and get the codes read for free when the CEL is on.
Get codes, report back before buying anything.
Sometimes codes are caused by other engine problems that influence the sensors and turn the light on.

The rough idle will usually be a misfire code.

I checked for TSBs. None found for 3.9L engine
