I need a new engine head

I have a 2004 1.8 Turbo Audi A4 quattro. Never got a timing belt change and I didn't make it to 75K. The head is now mangled inside. I am looking for more information on whether this is a recall issue or if others have this problem and what they did to remedy it.

Good luck finding a used head this is a common problem on the 1.8L most VW Audi gurus will tell you not to exceed 60K with out a timming belt service. The 1.8L has turned out to be one of the least reliable engines VW Audi has ever made. Go to your Audi dealer trade it toward diffrent car as is.

No recall head has to come off,inspect pistons for holes and gouges and cylinder walls damage .if pistons are damaged you can drop the oil pan and loosen rod and remove damaged pistons have a machine shop check rod if straight have new piston installed put it back in motor using the same piston ring . if your head is scrap junk yard have valve job done .if you cant do it yourself might be
cheaper to get another motor

Not a recall. Find a head in the junkyard and have the valves reground.

Why does my 2002 audi a4 quattro blow white smoke from the exhaust and from oil cap?, i replaced the engine head and turbo not long ago and it started out of nowhere

Sounds like a cracked piston ring to me. If you didn't do a re-ring when the head and turbo work was done, you probably should have. Now it may be too late.

I have a 1999 audi a4 quattro 1.8l turbo. timing belt broke and replaced the motor, new timing belt, water pump and thermostat. now it overheats after about 15 minutes. what could the problem be?

An airlock ?? all vw group engines have to be vented after filling with antifreeze/water.....they used to fit a tap on the top heater hose,sadly no longer.so you have to undo the clip and vent it manualy.....

Audi A4 2006 2.0 Turbo Quattro, with 13000 miles. Problem: When warmed up, check engine light comes on and a loud squeal is heard. Tapers off when gas is pressed. Power remains OK. Air control system...

Hi,
the squeal is caused by a belt,not tensioned correctly ,I would check the cambelt tension first and then the serpentine belt,if not obvious you need to take to a Audi trained garage.If you plug in a code reader it will help point you in the right direction by the fault code.

Turbo= not working

Most likely the turbo is gone. What ever part of the turbo went, just replace the entire turbo. Not serviceable 99% of the time. The engine will not like being driven for any extended period of time with a bad turbo.
