One side of the timing cover can be pulled off to look at the belt. If you pull off the cover on the driver's side (four 10mm bolts), you'll be able to see if the belt is tight, slack, or broken. Good luck!

Yes as long as the Motors are the same. You might need to have the computer out of doner car. Doors are suppose to fit 96 to 99.

Does it go into gear ok when its not running? When its running does it grind when you try to put it in gear? Does clutch feel firm or soft when you push it in? If you can shift all gears when its not running then its a clutch problem. If you can't than its a transmission problem. Is it a hydrolic clutch or mechanical? I can only guess and i won't do that, i need this info to help you.
