If the alarm has a siren with a backup battery, then check the condition of the siren battery. Is it drawing a large charge (drop in amps from the battery. Run a parasitic drain test). If so, then the siren could be at fault.

Is the alarm fitted with a sonic motion detector? Looks like two tiny speakers in a unit fitted in the centre of the dash. If so, this unit could be faulty.

Many after market alarm systems by the way, tend to only last for a few short years before failing. Is this an aftermarket product or factory?

Remote died and the alarm keeps going off, replaced battery to remote and the alarm is still going off

Try having the key in the 'on' position then disconnect the engine battery for two minutes , reconnect and check system.

How do we dismantle the alarm system without the remote? We live in an apartment building and the valets in the garage have a key without the remote so they can move the car. Even if we leave the car...

You can buy a new key chain remote on ebay, or go to hyundai dealership, I would not disable security, as one thing electrical goes wrong it can cause other things to not work properly. This car has built in computer system.

When i try to turn the car on the alarm goes off and the car doesn't start. help

If you can step up to the car and unlock it with the remote and everything is ok until you touch the ign. I'd say door switch. If you unlock the car, but fiddle around a bit before starting, the car has a senile moment and trips off.
But if you can't even use the remote then it sounds like the key isn't recognized by the alarm system. Try a different key, like the valet key- the one without the alarm buttons on it. If that doesn't work I'd say you have to drag the car and EVERY key to the VW stealership to have the alarm recoded

My dog has destroyed my remote , can i still drive my car it is locked & alarmed & my remote will not work

Most car alarms are made to just sound to scare people away from it.

When you put the key in the door to unlock it, the alarm will go off, but you can unlock it.

Once you unlock it, pop the hood and disconnect the alarm until you can get another remote for it. It should still be drivable unless you bought an aftermarket alarm which shuts off the engine (and goes for a pretty penny). If you did, you need to find a ride to the dealer you bought the from and get a remote before you attempt to unlock it.

I hope this helps. =)

When I unlock my jeep the alarm goes off.

On some cars/trucks/SUV's, the alarm will go off if the car is unlocked with the key or if the door is opened (even from inside the car with the alarm set). Unlocking with a key does not always turn off a car alarm. Best advice, go to the dealership to get a new key-less entry remote, or get a new alarm installed with a remote to override the original alarm system.
