2000 acura 3.2 tl shuts off while driving

Help! when i was driving the other day my car shut off on me twice while driving and turned back on by its self. when i parked it, it completly shut off and wouldnt turn back on for about 15 minutes. i had to wait for all the lights to turn off and when they did the car started again. anyone have any idea what this could be?!

try turning the key on then taking the +side off then turn key off and reconect+

SOURCE: where is plug in acura 2000 tl for check engine

The OBDII connector is located in the center console just behind the ashtray. There is a plastic cover that must be removed and you will find the connector behind the cover.

i have a 1999 acura 3.2tl. it runs fine when it is cold or hot. after the car is hot and i shut it off for five to ten minutes the car will start and shut down right away. when it stays running it runs rough with a low idle under 500rpm. any ideas>

hi, when you turn the ignition on do you hear the fuel pump start up if you do then the pump is fine if how ever you hear nothing then the chances are its going to either be the fuel pump or fuel pump relay, if you have a look in your fuse box you should be able to find the fuel pump relay if you cant locate it then its best you get a manual to show you the relays location, you can then put a finger on the relay and when you turn the ignition on you should feel a little click coming from the relay if you hear this then the pump needs replacing but if you hear or feel nothing then the chances are the relay needs replacing.

you can also check if the pump is working by removing the fuel feed hose from the injector fuel rail then once this is removed you put a tub under it then turn the ignition on if you have fuel shooting out then you know the fuel pump and relay are ok and you need to start thinking of some other problem such as ecu etc,

see what you find then get back to me and ill try and assist you further ok

You should call your local Acura Dealer. Some of these TL's had additional warranty coverage for similar transmission problems. I would first see if you car qualifies for any Manufacturer support.

You definitly have a timing problem. I dont think its a fuel problem due to the age of your car. Its about past due for a timing belt/chain replacement.

My 2000 acura 3.2 tl is misfiring. I've replaced the spark plugs. It starts and drives fine until you park for 5 minutes and when you go to start it up again, it misfires badly and sometimes won't start at...

Check the wiring. to Coil, plugs, Crank Positioning Sensor. check to see if the wire is in good condition sometimes if wire is checked, in poor condition it will allow bleed through especially when the wires get hot. This is why it will often start when engine cools down and why it shuts off when your sitting cause it heats the wires up there is not the cool air running accross the wires when sitting. Started up my acura tl 2000 and started to hear knocking and shut off

Check oil level and oil pump. Oil pump light should turn off after a few seconds after start up. If light stays on for more then 3 second shut off and do not drive or run motor.

I have a 2001 Acura 3.2 TL headlight goes on and off

As with Laurenson 538, I have the same problem with my 2001 CL.

Should this problem with the 2001 Acuras be a recall issue? I, too, have replaced the headlight assembly ($1,000 plus). The old one (sealed[?]) had moisture in it... the reported cause of the light burning out. Within a short period, the $1000 replacement had moisture in it and has just burned out again.

Now, at a different Acura agency, I'm told that the bulb needs another $1,000 replacement. When I asked about the warranty, I was advised 90 days was the warranty. When I asked if I was expected to spend $1,000 every 90 days to be able to drive the car, the rep got defensive.
Writing Acura resulted in a big Zero. Before buying a new Acura, one might inquire about the headlights. Since one can't drive without headlights, maybe Acuras should be reserved for daylight driving only! Have a backup car for night driving!

2003 Acura TL 3.2 61,000 transmission

I doubt they did anymore damage but i`ll bet that the engine was damaged from the training going out such as valve guides and seals and carbon build up on plugs ETC.
