Check the condition of the heater matrix valve under the dash board. Disconnect any motors or cable connections to it and try operating it by hand. If it is stuck, then replace it.

If not stuck, then check motor operation (if climate control model) or cable routing (if manual only).

SOURCE: AC Problem

Sounds like the blend door is stuck. Unfortunately the blend door is buried deep within the dash.

SOURCE: Interior lights on climate clontrol knobs don't work

After showing the dealership this site and the problems that others have had. I insisted that they take a look at it and solve the problem. FINALLY, they admitted that there are lights and that basically it is a pain to fix because they need to order a new module. After one day in the shop, I now have lights for the climate controls in my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Do not let them tell you that it only is an option with the Limited. It is just flat out FALSE. I was so frustrated with my dealership because this is shady if you ask me, but they did fix it free of charge. Do your research, call JEEP themselves, and provide the dealership with facts and they should fix it. It's ridiculous how much work I had to do to get them to admit that the Laredo also had the option, but it failed. Don't back down!!!!!!!

SOURCE: how do replace the temperature control knob light

Go to Radio Shack and head to the back where they have the drawers with the LEDs and mini lightbulbs. Get the model no. 272-1140, mini lamp 1 3/4 hookup leads, 6V, 25mA. It costs about $1.49-$2. When you take apart the HVaC unit from the center console, there's two blue twist out plugs on the top near center right and left of the unit. Twist out the one on the side that has the light out. You'll need a small screwdriver to turn it loose. Study how the wires come out at one end of the blue tube and use a needle point plier to carefully untwist the wires and pull it out from the bulb end. Now insert the new bulb w/ the two wires throught the 2 small holes until they come out the other end. Your new bulb is not a perfect fit, so just push it as best you can. Carefully strip the plastic from the wire leads and wrap it in the same position and re-insert the blue tube-thingy back into its place. Turn on your lights and it should light up again. Hope that helps.

I have a 2005 Nissan murano the a/c compressor comes on and hot air comes out the vents. Please help

Your problem is most likely caused by a jammed AC/Heater temperature control blend door and or blend door electric actuator motor. The door is stuck in the heated air position and can't move to divert the air flow across the cold AC evaporator core. In most cars this problem requires the entire dash assembly be removed to replace the parts.

yes, then the temperature control is broken

Vent control knob on our 2005 Sentra was stuck, made a loud click when turned, and now only dash vents work, no defroster...any solutions for a quick fix?

HERE'S A LINK TO YOUR SET UP,SOMETHING COULD BE BROKE,NOT LETTING YOU TO ADJUST WITH THE SWITCH,THERE ARE CABLES ATTACHED TO THE LEVERS THAT MAKE THEM TURN WHEN YOU TURN KNOB,MAY BE LOOSE,BENT OR BROKE,YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THINGS AND SEE.

The fan stopped blowing for the air conditioning and heating

Check the fuses, or the whole knob assembly went bad.

Interior thermostat control is stuck in position that it only blows air in floor, regardless whether its on heat or AC. It will blow hot or cold, just wont allow you to change air flow positions. Also...

check fuses and relays. there is an electric motor that opens and closes a "blend air door' that switches from hot to cold. the other lights may or may not be related. Is is very possible that the plug going into the control unit has a bad connection.

My air conditioning is stuck on the vents in my 2005 Nissan Sentra. I turn the knob and it won't change from defrost. Is there an easy fix or will I have to take it to a repair shop?

well if you don't mind hard work, then you must pull out the panel that holds your knob switches and check that the cable has not pulled out from the knob, clip it back into place and you should be fine, otherwise you should take it to a repair shop, good luck

Cold Am . I turned the left knob 45 degree . All i get is HEAT,knob moves

Hi rafis1234,
if you are handy, you can remove the small dash panel where the a/c control knobs are and then you'll access the lever mechanism and most of the time you'll find a rusty lever or someting has jammed the lever.
Cheers
