Need to know step by step instruction for getting computer to set timing on 1998 chevy s10 4.3 liter v6 vortec engine
The computer can not set the timing if the distributor is off or if the timing chain off

you can't change the timing in this engine nor can you adjust the valves. The timing is adjusted throught the computer therefore there is no mechanical way to change this. You might be able to with some kind of programmer or computer program.

sounds like your engine immobiliser fuel cut off is activating.try taking battery teminals off,re-connect and re activate your immobiliser fob the usual way,**** it will re-set itself,& or your fob battery may need changing,it,s anti-theft cut off that is your problem.good luck.
