SOURCE: 2005 Audi A4 1.8 Fuel Pump problem?

I had an Audi A4, 10 years older than yours mind you, but it would start then stop, sometimes 10 times but would eventually go. I ran a little WD40 in the key barrel and put the key in and out a couple of dozen times. Wiping it with a cloth each time, lots of dirt came off. My theory and it's only mine, is that the wear on the key left dirty metal deposits inside which stopped the chip in the key being recognised. I believe they had a security chip inside the key.
Anyway after 6 months of this nuisance it never happened again after that. Fixed my problem and a lot of frustration. Maybe help you too.

I have a 2009 Audi A4. All the doors are unlocked and the fuel door will not open. Is there a switch or another way to open the door? Could it be a fuse?

Pull the trunk wall lining back by the fuel filler. On my 99 A4 there is a red cable there - it's an emergency release that will pop the gas door open.

Change license plate light

Open the trunk and remove access panel near bottom of the trunk where the plate is. The panel is clipped on. This will access screws which can be turned with a phillips head screwdriver. Taking off the screws will allow you to hold and turn the bulb housing clockwise 90 degrees to be pulled out. Take out the bulb and replace it. Put the housing in and turn opposite way 90 degrees. Put on screws and panel. Thanks for using Fixya.

I need to get to the trunk lock mechanism but can't seem to figure out how to remove the lining from the trunk lid. Audi A4. I have the convertable top down and the service light says close the trunk. I...

The liner is held on by little plastic studs. It can be gently pried off Then you will have access to the lock. The lock should have a nut on it that holds it to the trunk. Turn nut counter-clockwise to remove.

How to change a break light

you have to disconnect the light from inside the trunk. If you look inside your trunk behind the lights, you may have to move the carpet material out of the way to see it, and you should be able to see the connections for the bulbs. Just unlock the socket, i believe it turns counter clockwise bout 90 degrees, pull it out, remove the buld and replace.
