SOURCE: '91 Chevy Corsica bad thermostat?

Could be a bad thermostat or Temperature Control sensor which controls the fans when the car eeaches a certain degrees. With the car stopped. run to operating temperature until it gets hot. The fans should come on by themselves. If thy dont't it is the temperature control sensor. Do not run the car or overheat the car.. Check coolant/antifreeze level. If low, refill and bleed the radiator and coolant system. By filling up the radiator with 1/2 and 1/2 water /coolant. Run engine . let cool until it can be handled. Very carefully turn radiator cap using thick gloves or bundled up rag. let the air out. Some cars have a bleed bolt(very small) at the outlet from the thermostat to bleed the air out. Either way will do.Repeat until radiator is full.

SOURCE: 1997 s-10 sames to get vapor lock

Change your fuel filter, it may have gone it's life time and is getting to dirty to let fuel flow properly. Your fuel pump to may be getting weak, if the fuel filter is dirty the pump works harder and heats up and could be over heating the fuel pump relay too. The fuel pump relay i believe is in the glove box behind a panel that say relay, there should be (3) in there and the middle one is the fuel pump's. switch then around after you change the fuel filter and if you get a chance, check your fuel pressure at the shredder valve. Good luck and hope this help's if there is a Auto Zone around you, you can ask to use the fuel pressure gauge to see what fuel pressure you have and they'll have the step by step instructions on how to do it and takes about 5 min to do and will have the fuel filter and step by step to replace that too. Keep me posted, be glad to help.

SOURCE: 1995 Ford Ranger will not start when hot outside.

My 95 was this way when I bought it and going through the spark and fuel checks I found it wasn't getting fuel. It turned out that I had an intermittent fuel pump relay and it wasn't supplying the voltage to the fuel pump. It was located on the driver side fuse box engine compartment. Cost about $10 dollars. What I did is there are 3 identical relays together in the fusebox performing different functions and when it didn't start I swapped one of the others with the fuel relay to check it and it started.

97 mercury mountaineer. won't start

hi,

watch your oil pressure when cranking, you have to have some oil pressure to get the fuel system to start. you may have to find the hot wire at the relay and energize it to see if it is indeed the fuel pump going out. if its been sitting and its a 97 the fuel pump just might have went, you can also try hitting the gas tank from the outside in the middle to see if that works too. have a water hose or fire extinguisher around when your working on fuel system and leave one of your battery cable a little loose..

1992 chevy truck wanting to run hot and then gets rough idling like it is going to die out have to give it gas

So you attack the overheating problem first before you blow an engine.

Thermostat, fan clutch, water pump, blockage in cooling system or low coolant level are some of the possibilities.
Is the gauge showing hot when it is overheating ?

After having problems getting 1997 chevy truck to go faster then 40-45mph i replaced the fuel pump, ran fine for little over a week. drove it couple days ago went to leave it started ran for couple seconds...

HELLO: It could be a frozen gas line and or stopped up filter, filter is on drivers side under the truck, looks like over sized small coke can with a connection on both ends. Thats the first place I would check.

Have a 2002 dodge ram truck was on park on heated up spit antifrreze got hot resorvoir was full n radiater cap not hot what can it be

A good possibility that you have a stuck water temperature thermostat blocking all flow of water into the radiator but the water in the engine block is boiling from not cirulating. I relatively inexpensive repair for the part and labor.

The water pump could also have had the impeller fail by coming loose from the pump drive shaft resulting in no water flow at all.

1. Thermostat
2. Water pump
3. Some one overserviced the reservoir at a "full service" gas station or during an over zealous oil change and service.

I have a 2006 F-150 Lariat SuperCrew and when I am accelerating, at around 45 mph to 55 mph my engine bogs or maybe the transmission is doing something funny. Could it be the O-2 sensors?

I happen to own the same truck as yours
Mine did the same thing too
The first thing I did was go to my reputable gas station (BP.SHELL,etc..)and fill it up with 93 octane gas. I drove it on the highway for 25 miles and the sluggishness went away. I probably had water in my tank which happens to all of us. All fuel stations gets water in their underground tanks at some point. When their tanks at almost empty you will receive some water in your tank. Even if your gas tank is half filled, filling it will make a difference you see for the less amount of water will work its way through with more gas added

Truck lost power engine will only rev to 38-4000 rpm . in park when you mash the gas it wants to bogg down before it revs up. the exhaust is also very hot comming from the tailpipe

Sounds like it has went into "Safe Mode". This is a feature in newer autos that will allow you to drive it to a repair station or off the interstate when the engine detects that it has too many miss fires in a row. Several causes for this, bad gas "water in the gas", burning oil, etc.
