Question about 1993 Ford Tempo
I have changed filter to discover that the large speedometor gear is broken and bits were found in trany pan and filter. Replaced filter, trans fluid and removed what was left of the speedometor gear that was around the trans axle. I do not see how this will effect shifting but if it does then please let me know? I am definately a trany guy. But the owner is 68 yrs old and cant afford a new car. The gear that was bad is not the gear conected to the spedo cable but the gear that drive the gear for the spedo cable (POLYPROPOLENE GEAR)
Well i would try replaceing that sensor first it is a speed sensor and it has a lot to do with the shifting of that tranny if it dose not work yea with what you have exsplained it is probly time for a tranny but this fix is worth a try thanks kdc744
