If its overheating and no coolant is leaking you have some other issue--Anything up to and including a head gasket is possible.

If engine overheats and I remove thermostat does it help?

This is the primary cause of engine overheating. Possible leak points include hoses, the radiator, water pump, thermostat housing, heater core, head gasket, freeze plugs, automatic transmission oil cooler, cylinder heads and block. Perform a pressure test.

A stuck thermostat is the most common cause of overheating, that would also contributed to the hose failure.

On a 2006 1.3 Rocam. After a broken heater hose, the engine overheated, and I didn't notice until the bakkie lost power. I replaced the head gasket, with no success. The engine still overheated.

Have you checked to see if your fan is working ?
After performing your repairs, did you bleed the coolant system ? One way is to run vehicle with heaters running to make sure that air in the heater core / hoses is bleed.

My 01 Nissan Altima overheated because of a broken heater hose. Now my car won't start.

When a car overheats it can do serious damage to the engine internals, including completely seizing the engine. It is common for overheating to blow a head gasket which would explain the bad starting. Unless you know how to diagnose these issues, you will need to take it to a repairer for an assessment. Be prepared for some very bad news.

Why does my cadillac 1998 deville keep overheating?

Overheating can be numerous things: Fans not working, water pump, thermostat, overflow cap, and the list keeps going. When the engine is running and heats ups, feel the heat of the top hose, if the hose isn't hot, the thermostat is most likely stuck open and needs replaced. If it is hot we know you have circulation. The cap on the expansion tank may be defective, if it can't hold the pressure of the water, it will release at the overflow cap if the cap is bad. Also check the coolant level.
