2001 monte carlo LS. when making turns (mostly Left) the trans seams so slip and a have no speed, if slow down the trans seams to kick in but if I give it more gas the engine just rev and clunks when it catches up car speed. This also happens when I come to quick stop and then try to speed up quickly.

once a trans starts to slip like this there is no bandaid fix, u need to either replace or overhaul the entire trans, the clutches inside the trans are worn out or you have a fluid pressure failure.

If your engine cools down when moving fast, you either have a problem with your water pump or your electric fans that cool off your radiator and a/c condenser. This is controlled by a temperature switch, but these fans should kick on instantly when A/C is selected.

The coolant solution is something to think about. I say this because the low coolant light came on about 2 weeks after the slipping started and I had to add about 2 quarts of coolant to the reserve to fill it back up.
