SOURCE: 1994 Jeep Cherokee Power Window Problem

When you open the drivers door you can see a wiring harness between the door and the body of the car.
You more than likely have wires broken in there.

My driver side window fell down & the electric switch won't raise it.l

If the switch is broken, you can put the switch down, short circuit closed first, if is bad, there is no way to the machine. Had better find a repair shop.car key programmer

The driver side electric door panel doesn't work on my '06 Chevy.

Gonna need to remove the panels and see where you left some wiring disconnected or pinched.

Ford fairlane1992 electric windows - front driver side not working

Ok Could be one of 3 things...... 1. Bad switch. they're realively easy to replace. Cardone/HELP makes these switches and you can get them at any auto parts store.
2. Bad ground to the window motor.
3. Bad window motor. My best advise is goes the easiest, cheapest route. Replace the swithch first. That way if it solves the problem, you only have a couple of bucks into the repair, and you didn't change anything you really didn't need to get into. If it doesn't fix it, you still have a few bucks into it and a brad new switch in it that you don't have to worry about for a long while.
IF you are not mechanically inclined with automotive elctrical systems, and the switch replacement didn't work, take to a reliable mechanic and have it checked for the bad ground first. Window motors can be pricey.

Power window wont work

Probably a bad switch. Try removing the panel and with a 12 - 18 volt drill battery by your side, disconnect or cut the heavy gauge wires going to your motor. Use the drill battery to attempt to raise your window. reverse the connections if the window doesn't do anything. If it raises, reconnect your wires and tape them up and replace your switch

What's your problem? The side view mirrors on my 2002 Chevy Tahoe do not adjust using the toggle located on the driver side door panel.

The switch is a contact type. When you move the switch it complete the circuit by connect the two contacts points. After some time the switches wear out simply replace the switch.

Electric window doesn't work

The inner door panel will have to come off. You might want to check a repair manual for the step-by-step procedure.
If it is the motor, just buy a couple of used ones from a junkyard. Only the most diehard tinkerers ever mess with them.
I think you may find that the regulator is the problem. Whatever Ford uses to raise and lower the windows (some use nylon strips that wear bad) may be the problem, not the motors. But, anyway, good luck.

2001 Mazda Miata passenger side power window just quit working. Fuse is okay. Driver side window is working. What's the most likely cause, and estimate to fix?

Condensation at winter time gets in the motor and corrodes it, especially its electrical contacts, if its not too serious yet, beating on your door panel down low with your fist can sometimes cause the electrical connection to connect and work again... Otherwise check your power to that motor while operating the switches and while any safety lock-out switch on the driver's switch panel is in the correct operating position. (ignition on also). Less common is any corrosion to the wiring harness plugs. Try the window from both drivers and passengers switches. Replacement motors should run about $250 installed. It requires taking the door panel off and usually the side tracks and glass removed.

PASSENGERS AND REAR ELECTRIC WINDOWS DO NOT WORK FROM THE RESPECTIVE DOOR SWITCH.. ALL WINDOWS WORK FROM DRIVERS SIDE

There is a window lockout button on the drivers master window switch. Make sure you haven't accidentally pressed it. Having this on will turn off all the power windows as you have described.

A quick stupid fix, just wrap a piece of electrical tape around the little pin that clicks into the holding piece. :)

Rear passenger window is stuck with about a quarter to half inch open. Will not go up or down.

First remove the paneling (of the door) apply electricity to the motor, it doesnt matter to witch side as they both will carry power from one time to another, if that works, try checking the main switch on the driver side door, if you can get a friend to loan you his while you check or you might have to buy one. Its either the main switch or the passengers side switch if the window goes up when direct juice is applied to it.
