I have changed my throttle position sensor and its still doing the same thing. I also changed one one my injector o-ring because ir was leaking...and still no change in idle. I need help asap thx CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BLINKS CODE 1216 it says its the throttle position sensor i got a brand new one and its still throwing the same code...

You might want to try replacing your throttle return spring, or at least lift the hood and see if here is a change while it smooths out..

change the pcv valve its under the intake manifold

I would first check for a vacuum leak. Common areas of intake leaks are: 1. The crankcase vent valve located under the intake. 2.Check the intake boot at the throttle housing. You will find that there is an elbow where a small hose goes to your idle valve. Using your hand feel in the elbow area for a hole in the rubber. Your tech can use brake cleaner and spray the intake to check for leaks or use a smoke tester. 3.Possible failing Mass Air Meter. At idle, in park, and a/c not on the meter reading should be appr. 18-22 hz

You have to be able to monitor them while the veh is running, need to take it to bmw dealer because they dont release the software for aftermarket diognostic machines.
Too fast an idle speed. If an engine without
computerized idle speed control is idling too fast and refuses to
come down to a normal idle speed despite your best efforts to back off the
carburetor idle speed screw or air bypass adjustment screw (fuel injection),
air is getting past the throttle somewhere. Common leak paths include the
carburetor and throttle body gaskets, carburetor insulator spacers, intake
manifold gaskets, and of course, any of the engine's vacuum fittings, hoses and
accessories. It is even possible that leaky O-rings around the fuel injectors
are allowing air to leak past the seals. Another overlooked item can be a worn
throttle shaft and a defective idle speed speed control motor/valve stuck in
the extended (high idle speed) position/throttle position sensor. Also the
throttle plate could be binding in its bore and kinked accelerator cable,
coolant temperature sensor might not be operating properly misleading the computer
that the engine is still cold and computer throwing fuel at it raising the idle
speed.----------
Getting this possibilities checked will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

A lot of things that can cause this. From the evap/EGR To a bad coil or cable. Pcv valves, vacuum leaks, idle control valve, ect. Good luck
