Solenoid that affect the heater

The heater is controlled by a 'variable solenoid water valve' that is controlled via the Air-conditioning module. These valves are prone to failure after a few years service. Another cause is if you have refilled the cooling system, the heater matrix sometimes airlocks, this can be overcome by bleeding the hose at high level by the heater hose in the engine bay.
Good luck -hope this helps

I have a 2001 Jaguar S-type thats overheating. Part of where the high pressure hose connects is broken and the hose came loose while driving. I pushed the hose farther up onto the housing and retighte

sounds like pump but may have air lock as you had the hose issue bleed the cooling system as per the workshop manual and see if that helps as a first step

05 Jaguar s-type is overheating? I thought it was a hose that was loose I reattach it and its still running hot

it could be one of several things causing the problem,
faulty thermostat
faulty water pump
blocked radiator
blown head gasket
cracked head
timing
take the car to a radiator repairer and have the cooling system checked, they will tell you what the problem is in a short period of time

Hi, iv got jaguar s type r 2002, could someone tell me how do i bleed air out from heater system, thers no heating in the car. it was all fine before it started leaking engine cooling water, now thats got...

What I do is park the car uphill. Let it cool, open the cap, start it, and let it warm up until coolant flows in the radiator. Add coolant and let the air burp out until there is good flow with no bubbles coming up.

2000 jaguar overhearts after upper hose replacement. water boils/steams out of back/bottom of the resevoir. temperature guage stays at normal but the car overheats and stalls out.

It may be that the system is airlocked, this can happen after work on the cooling system - if most of the water has been lost. If you think there is no damage to head gaskets or other seals between engine and coolant system or leaking hoses - try bleeding the system as you fill it by venting air from the top hoses when engine is cold (for safety).
hope this helps - good luck.
