My gps in my Prius 2005 stopped working. It shows a message like "Please insert the correct DVD" and below that it has writing in Japanese. Also when I try to select the "Menu" or "Dest" button on the console nothing happens. It was working fine but someone was trying to put a location in and hit a button (not aware what) and then it just stopped working.

Usually because you purchased a Japanese import and the unit is set for Japan maps and can't parse the information for the country it finds it in.

There is probably a belt drive involved in the ejection process. If it has stretched and is slipping, the eject will not take place.

Best to call your dealer on this one.May have to replace stereo or learn japanese.

The triangle with an exclaimation mark in the middle is the Master Warning Light . I havn't had time to check out exactly what it is but is is covered in the service reminders part of the owners manual. Google " 2005 prius warning lights . In the first result , you will find a link to toyotapartsandservice.com where you will find owners manual's etc. ( in english )

I have same engine problem. Triangle signal pop up after I try to start my Prius with a still wet air filter to the car . The engine just run for less than 30 sec. and stopped with the triangle signe pop up. I think this sign will pop up whenever the engine detect certain major function failure. For my case, it was due to retricted air supply to the engine. I have tried Lovebytes suggestion and the triangle sign disappeared with a dry clean filter. My Prius is running good now. This warnig sign may have other implications. Once you try this method and sign still come on. You need to have your car check by garage.

I had the same problem. I unplugged the relays from the fuse/relay box under the bonnet. (Top left side) and replaced them. The problem disappeared. (2001 Prius 109,000 miles)

Press the destination button on the console while stopped. You can't program unless you are in park.
