SOURCE: 1999 Chev Venture Heater core do I need to remove

The blower motor location can change from year-to-year. It can also change with the trim level of the vehicle. A vehicle that has front and rear climate controls may be configured differently than a vehicle that has front controls only. The following are two different repair procedures. One is for blower motors located and accessed in the engine compartment, the other is for blower motors mounted inside the vehicle.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Engine Compartment Mounted

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine air cleaner assembly.
  3. If necessary for clearance, remove the left hand wiper arm linkage.
  4. Detach the wire harness connector from the blower motor.
  5. Disconnect the motor cooling hose.
  6. Remove the blower motor assembly retaining screws
  7. Carefully pull the blower motor assembly out from the firewall.

How do I replace a heater core on a 1984 Cadillac eldoreado Biarritz ,do I need to remove the dash

No need to remove the dash.
You need to remove the glove box. Remove the Programmer from the heater box. The heater box has studs going through the firewall attached with speed nuts on the UNDERHOOD side of the firewall . The nuts on the lower part of the box cannot be seen , so must be felt, and then removed. Place rags on both openings of heater core so as not to leak any coolant into the car. Heater box once unbolted must be artfully removed from UNDER the dashboard

How do you change 1992 chev lumina heater core

if the coolant level is at the proper level and the thermostat is good then before you pull the heater core out you can try disconnecting the heater hoses and drain or blow out as much coolant out of the heater core then connect separate hoses to the spigots and fill the heater core with CLR and let it sit for an hour before draining then flush out with water and repeat if necessary this sometimes works and you won`t have to remove the heater core.

How do you replace the heater core in a 1984 GMC 3500 camper

You will probably need new heater hose...first check heater hoses that run from engine to the
heater core......Most hoses will tear at the end where they are connected to the core and at the engine...First mark where each hose goes then drain coolant from system and remove both hoses...Take old hose's to parts store and get new hose's and clamps...They should be dryrotted
by the year of vehicle....It is easy to bend or break new core so be very careful when installing new core....After removing old hose's from core under hood you will know the location of the core....
remove screws under passenger side dash to remove core from inside of dash...very simple very easy....It looks like a tiny radiator with an in and an out spout...dont forget to mark where hoses
connect before removal.......Be sure and refill with new coolant/clamps/hoses because of age of vehicle...Both heater hose's that connect to the core are connected at the firewall on the passenger side of the engine...The core fits into the firewall dash and is connected to an input and an output hose...THIS IS EASY FOR BEGINNERS BUT BE CAREFUL WITH NEW CORE NOT TO BEND !!

How to install heater core if 1985 cj 7 jeep with 151 cubic inch

If it is necessary to remove the heater assembly, the cooling system must be drained before removing the heater core.
When a heater core leaks, a new heater core is installed or the old one repaired.
Heater Housing
  • The heater housing is usually under the dash and must be removed to gain access to the heater core.
  • Procedures for replacing the heater core vary with the year, make, and model of car. It threfore necessary to consult the manufacturer's repair manuals for the proper procedure for replacement.
f74-01.gif The heater housing is disassembled to get to the heater core. Heater Core
  • Remove the access panels(s) or the split heater/air conditioning case to gain acess to the heater core.
  • Remove the heater coolant hoses.
  • Remove the cable and/or vacuum control lines (if equipped).
  • Remove the heater core securing brackets and/or clamps.
  • Lift the core from the case. Do not use force. Take care not to damage the fins of the heater core when removing.
  • To reinstall the heater core, reverse the removal steps.
When the heater core leaks and must be repaired or replaced, it is a very difficult and time-consuming job primarily because of the core's location deep within the firewall of the car. For this reason always leak test a replacement heater core before installation.

Heater wont warm up in a 2000 chev tahoe

Check that the heater core's two tubes that enter the firewall are getting hot. If they are, then you are having a blend door problem which will require disassembling the dashboard instruments to get at the vacuum motors that control the blend doors.

If the heater core is not getting hot at both tubes, then the following procedure outlines how to change the heater core out:

Removal & Installation
