Hey, we all make mistakes. Elantra I have head of. The 2005 Hyundai Elantra can tow 3.086 Lbs if the trailer you are towing is equipped with trailer brakes. If the trailer is not equipped with trailer brakes it can only tow 1,000 lbs. This is quite allot for a sedan. Remember do not tow over 1,000 lbs without trailer brakes and that includes the weight of the trailer. You will never be able to stop it and it may jackknife.

Read your owner's manual (vehicle specs). If you don't have the owner's manual, get one or call the Hyundai Service Center nearest you.

After some extensive research, it looks as though they have two totally different body styles as well as a few others. The differences are as follows:

Lantra: 1.5L
Elantra: 1.6L or 1.8L engine sizes

Lantra: 2,336 lbs
Elantra: 2,500lbs Weight

Lantra: 11.89 gal
Elantra: 13.7 gal fuel capacity

those are only three differences that i have put up among the many that i have found. Lantra's also seem to be one of those out of states type cars that you find in Australia mostly. The body is also totally different.

Your alternator is probably not charging at full capacity. The brake light is next in sequence with the battery light, and will glow dimly. (Set your parking brake, and it will glow brighter.) I replaced the alternator, and cleared up the problem.
