SOURCE: 2003 chevy impala makes clicking noise/smoking thru exhaust

the clicking noise could be eiter a valve or piston. the smoke out of the exhaust means different things depending on the color and how much smoke. Check your air filter and make sure oil is not backing up into it. Also, it may be a good ideal to go ahead and change the oil even though you arent at 3000 miles, unless you just changed it. Change the PCV valve also, if itis clogged it will give you problems. Has the check engine light come on?

SOURCE: 2002, chevy impala 3.4 v6. wont pick up speed.

Had the same issue with my 2002 Impala. The solution was to replace a clogged or defective catalytic converter. There is a "Special Policy Adjustment # 05551 that will replace the converter for any owner, 2001 and 2002 3.4 or 3.8 engine, several GM models, up to 10 years old, and up to 120,000 miles. No charge if done by GM dealer and/orreimbursd if done by another mechanic or self.

SOURCE: im trying to pass the smoke check on my 2000 chevy

its the O2 Sensor, depending on what bank its on, depends what one needs changed.. bank 1 or A is the sensor on the exhaust closes to the engine, and if its bank 2, or B its the sensor on the exhaust closest to the catalatic converter.... or it could say upstream or downstream, the upstream is the one closest to the engine, the downsream is the one by converter. hope this helps

What is a flange and where is it located on the 2002 pontiac sunfire

Hi,
We need more info. A 'flange' is not a specific part. If the check engine light is on, take it to an auto parts store and have them 'read the codes' to find out why the light is on. Call ahead to see if they store does it for free.

How much doe it cost to fix exhaust leaks

Hello,
Well--this depends, assuming you want to do the work yourself and do not want to take it to a shop.
Are we talking exhaust manifold leaks? Exhaust manifold pipe flange leaks? Catalytic Converter flange leaks? Or Muffler Flange leaks?

You can look up these parts online at any auto parts store. I suggest using oil or penetrating fluid of some kind to spray or put on the bolts. I spray them really good every day for about 3-5 days. But you probably should not drive the vehicle when doing this. I do this so I do not break any bolts. Your vehicle is not very old so you should not have too much of a problem just be careful. If the bolt does not want to move without a breaker bar you should spray them until they move relatively easy. Look at the torque settings if you have a book or go to the library. Usually they are about 35ft-lbs so they should not be really hard to get off.
If you have more questions, let me know.

2001 chevy impala has a P0420 code and a check engine light that will not reset. Earlier P-codes indicated a problem with cylinders 1-3. these codes reset after a while. Found intake vacuum house off on...

A code P0420 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

An oxygen sensor is not reading (functioning) properly
The engine coolant temperature sensor is not working properly
Damaged or leaking exhaust manifold / catalytic converter / exhaust pipe
Retarded spark timing

2005 Chevy Impala exhaust smell

neither one of these would cause gas to leak. sure it is not coolant ? if you think it is gas it is not safe to drive car as it could catch on fire. possible cause would be a leaking injector.
