Fuel issue when i try to start my car i have to pump the gas multiple times to get it to start, it sputters when idle, and it stalls out when i hit the gas after long red lights.

Starts runs ten mins. in tell you hit the gas peddle it stalls. unless you hold the idle over 1000 rpm the car bogs when you hit the gas pedal backfire and stall .

It could be the throttle position sensor.

Is it my fuel pump???? Sorry will post a vid soon but the description is exactly what it does...

Locate the fuel pressure regulator and remove the vacuum line and start the engine, inspect, if vac port leaks fuel , replace regulator, provided your vehicle is equipped with a vacuum operated fuel pressure regulator.

Van sputters when you put it in gear after its been started multiple times

Bad fuel pump, stopped up fuel filter, mabey? First check for vacume leaks.... may try unplugging the throttle position sensor. Plug it right back in... just check the connection.

Its a 115000 btu multi fuel.it starts up,runs a few seconds,then shuts off.it doesnt smoke or anything wierd,it just shuts off.

It can be low fuel pressure issue or clogged fuel pump. Or its engine related issues,---------------

86 f250 runs fine for a while then starves for gas

Starves for gas??? Starts to stall? Sputters idles funny?? Gas and O2 issues ackd alike. Gas starvation is usually a filter problem or god fobid the Fuel pump. Do you smell gas? See a leak??? Need more info here

change plugs wires also .fill gas tank up put prestone or gum out fuel injector cleaner.drive car around several miles.give injector cleaner time to clean out injectors.wait until engine cool .change fuel filter.relief fuel pressure before changing fuel filter.

You cannot pump the gas on a fuel injected engine unless the ignition is on.It sounds to me like the fuel pump is on the fritz.As for the heater vents the damper for chest level is not functioning.The selector switch may be malfunctioning.I would replace it with one from the scrap yard

Thank you for confirming that for me. I thought that it was the fuel pump, but two people told me that it sounded like the fuel filter needed changed. also thanks for the advice in the heater. I'll go out tomorrow and grab a selector and change them out.

Change the IAC the idle air control. You may be able to clean it and put it back on.

When you say you have to "hit" the starter, do you mean literally? If so, then you need to replace your starter. I've had several cars where the starter went out and if you bang on the starter it will usually start up. That wouldn't have anything to do with your fuel pump or idle sensor. Replace your starter.

I know it sounds crazy but check to see if the floor mat is blocking gas pedal. I have seen this alot in my 30 years as a master tech.the way you describe it sounds like all the other cust of mine that had the same issue. hope that is all it is. good luck and let me know.

check for black smoke at exhaust. stuck choke.... clean with carb. cleaner. could need adjusted. possible stuck float. no quick fix. diry fuel filter. replace.

Aftermarket fuel pump failure? Try "thepartsladi" store on eBay for low price GM OEM parts. Could also be wiring harness to fuel pump.
