SOURCE: Dashboard and tail lights out on 97" Nissan Sentra

I took my pathfinder to U-HAUL and asked them to check the towing lights. There was a pinched wire by my tail light and they cut it and changed it out for me, it was $5. I am so glad that I didnt take it to Nissan. My second step was going to be getting a new dimmer switch..but the guy who worked on my car said that wouldnt be the problem. He also told me that replacing a fuse that kept blowing out was dangerous and after the first time to get it checked out. Learn something new every day!!

SOURCE: No instrument panel lights on 1995 Nissan King Cab

Ye, the dimmer switch still works.

I know this because, when I turn on the left direction flasher, the panel lights pulse dimly on and off with the direction light flasher.

Do I have a defective direction light flasher? if so where is it located?

Tail lights don't work and instrument panel won't light up on 2007 corolla

you blew a fuse. check fuses in both fuse boxes..
ahh yes, the IP cluster lamps are dad, but not the idiot warning lights
only the parking lights in the cluster are dead. right.?
and the park-tail, running lights and dash dim lights are all the same.
my guess three is a short on the TAIL fuse, the TAIL fuse blew
and took out: park-tail, running lights and dash dim lights are all the same.
it blew. most are marked tail even thought it runs side lamps and front parking lamps... TAIL is wrong, they are parking. lamps it truth.

Concerning fuses, dash board and tail light use same fuse, size 10 fuse could I use a size 20 fuse in its spot and would it be harmful to use truck ?

In a pinch, yes you can use a 20amp in place of a 10amp as long as you have repaired what blew the 10amp.
It needs to be changed to the correct 10amp ASAP.
What happens is the next time, the 20 becomes a 30, becomes a 40 becomes a ... and the wiring harness burns up.

Dashboard lights - 2001 toyota corolla

May not be any fuse and if it was other things would not work either. It is most likely the sitch that controls the running and dash board lights.

Jetta 94 speedometer, tacometer, and clock doesn't work

The problem is the dashboard circuit board. Some connections burn up over time. Happened twice alerady, and this week again. This time light oil if flashing, buzzer buzzing, and other warning lights going crazy. Take out the dashboard and pc board. On the back, look for darkened resins spots. These are indications of intense heat. Gently scrape off and examine wire trace under with a magnifying lens. Look for tine break. Solder a wire around the break. See attached picture. I had to make two such fixes already and I going to look for more to try to fix my current problem.

Dash lights won't light

It sounds like there's a short in the wiring and I assume dashboard light to mean the lights for your gauges and not the lights for your a/c, fan, heat. You'll have to remove your dash board to get at your gauges and then you'll have to test each wire with a voltmeter for resistance to see which is shorted... I've seen wires that for some reason, will fuse together and short out

hi mate if you keep blowing fuses disconnect your front fog lights and try again if your dash lights work then a bulb has failed and gone to earth if it still blows the fuse disconnect the dahs pod (clocks) and reconect the fog lights if it does not blow the fuse the it probably is the dash pod or something associated with the pod hope it helps

My dashboard light does not come up.

Hi,
I'm assuming you mean the backlighting that illuminates the dials and clocks?
If so, do all the other lights, such as on the heater panel, and window switches work?
If so it's just a problem with the instrument panel.
Have you tried operating the dashlight dimmer switch? Sometimes if it's left in the same position for a long time the connection gets a bit dirty (like a crackly volume control on a stereo)
So it might be an idea to work it back and forth to see what happens.
Did this happen suddenly? That may indicate a bad connection to the dash unit.
Give the dash a slap above the clock units (you never know, it's worked for me)
It doesn't sound like a serious problem
The bulbs in the dash do gradually "blacken up" and do have to be changed periodically.
But you don't notice until the last one has gone
Please check for ANY other electrical items not working first.
Electricity can do some strange things in cars.
Hope I've been of some help.
Kev.

Dash lights dont work

sounds like you probably just blew a fuse , check your fuses , there should be a diagram on the fuse pannel cover that tells you what each fuse is for.
