Yhe indicator that you are seeing is most likely a charging system light (alternator). It could be other things like a brake warning lamp, but I don't know what king of car you are talking about, so I have no way to look it up for you.
In any case, YELLOW or AMBER lights on the dash mean that you should use caution while driving and get the car checked as soon as it is convinient for you. On the other hand, RED warning lamps mean STOP OPERATING THE VEHICLE until you have resolved the cause of the light coming on (unless you like being stranded - or worse!).
Looks like your computer is detecting a transmission/transaxle problem. Have you had your filter changed in the tansmission yet? Are you a little low on transmission fluid? Is the transmission fluid high like it's overfilled? Is your transmission fluid brownish and smell burnt? Just a couple of things you might need to look at. You may or even should take it to a reputible transmission shop and have them run a scan on it to see what the problem is. I know this doesn't seem like much help to you at this point and time but I would have it taken care of before any damage may happen.

and for Guest's response has same problem yours is the sensor and that comes from most times slamming the doors you will have to find where the sensor is located find someone that has a taurus simalar to yours and listen to the click in the dash on drivers side and you will be close
