There are to straps and the filler hose and the vent hose and a wiring harness. You may have to lower the rear first. Also that model may have the EVAP canister mounted to the tank.

How do I syphon the gas out of my 2002 1500 Chevrolet Avalanche.

Siphoning gas out of a vehicle can be a hazardous and potentially dangerous task. Additionally, it may be ******* in some jurisdictions. If you need to remove gas from your 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche, it is recommended that you consult a professional mechanic or automotive technician for assistance.
If you still choose to proceed with siphoning the gas yourself, here are some general steps to follow:
  1. Park the vehicle on level ground and turn off the engine. Be sure to engage the parking brake.
  2. Locate the fuel tank. In the case of your 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche, the fuel tank is located underneath the truck bed.
  3. Locate the fuel line. This is the hose that connects the fuel tank to the engine.
  4. Insert a siphoning hose into the fuel tank through the fuel filler neck. Make sure the hose goes all the way to the bottom of the tank.
  5. Use a manual pump or a vacuum pump to start the siphoning process. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions for the pump you are using.
  6. Once the fuel starts flowing, make sure to keep the siphoning hose lower than the fuel tank to maintain the flow of gas.
  7. Continue siphoning until you have removed the desired amount of gas from the tank.
  8. Once you are finished, remove the siphoning hose and dispose of the gas in accordance with local regulations.
Again, please exercise caution when attempting to siphon gas from your vehicle, and consider seeking professional assistance to avoid any accidents or legal issues.

My 2002 chev. diesel truck turns over but wont start, new filter

anytime you change the filter in a diesel you have to bleed the air out of the fuel system. The pump won't auto bleed the fuel system for you. every place in the fuel system that has a flare type connection needs to be bleed, start at the connection closest to the tank, loosen the connection and then crank the engine until you see diesel fuel drips from that connection. Tighten the connection while the engine is still cranking. Move to the next connection that is going toward the engine. Continue on in that manner toward the engine until you reach the injector pump/injector. Once you reach the injector pump be VERY aware that the fuel is at VERY high pressure. Do NOT put your body parts in the stream of high pressure diesel fuel. It could kill or injure you! Once you bleed all the way to the injector pump/ injector, the truck SHOULD start. Do not bleed after the injector pump because of the pressure involved, it is WAY too dangerous.

Good luck!

Easiest way to replace a fuel pump on a 2002 chevy avalanche?

i replaced the fuel pump on my chevy avalanche last year there is really only one way to replace it ,you have to take the braces down that holds the fuel tank up, unhook fuel lines, and rubber filler hoses, drop the gas tank to be able to get to the fuel pump. i bought a book at auto parts store that takes you step by step on how to do it.

How do you change a fuel pump in a 2003 chevy avalanche?

drop the fuel tank. (hopefully it is just about empty) on top of tank unplug power plug disconnect fuel lines and remove locking ring on top of pump unit, lift pump up out of tank. replace in opposite order. It really is that easy if the tank is empty as you can do it all with no jack . I did my yukon xl in about a hour but i had a friend handing me whatever i yelled for. I also removed the rear driveshaft so i would have plenty of room to sit up under the truck and god was that nice. Make sure you support the rear axle up with jackstands, yes jack rear of truck off the ground.

I have a 2002 chevy avalanch to replace the fuel pump

You can do it, but it's a mickey mouse way. Cut a hole in the floor above the gas tank where the fuel pump mounting plate is. Be careful not to cut any fuel lines, wires, or the tank itself, or you could have a fire or explosion. Then when you are done, you will need to reattach and seal the cut-out section somehow. Too much rigmarole if you ask me.
Much safer to just drop the tank... a litle more work, but less pissing around. Good Luck.

2002 Avalanche gas gauge problems

Gm has a real problem with fuel tank sending units. That is what is wrong. You need a fuel tank sending unit. You can only get them aftermarket with the whole fuel pump module, but you can buy them seperate if you buy it from the dealer.
