15- vehicle speed sensor. 22- coolant temperature sensor
55 -means end of message.
What's it doing?How's it running?

I'd say the hard starting is because the coolant temperature sensor is telling computer the wrong coolant temperature, which in turn tells the injectors how much fuel to spray into engine. For example, it tells the computer your coolant is hot, indicating that it is already warmed up so it doesn't need as much fuel to start as if it was cold. Thus causes hard starting. Other side of that, it tells computer engine is cold all the time, thus injector sprays too much fuel, resulting in flooding, or excessive fuel usage/poor gas mileage. Change that sensor first, then see how it runs. The other (speed sensor) is probably what's giving you that holding back feeling It's telling the computer to adjust everything to one speed, when your going another. Don't think either sensor too expensive, as well as fairly easy to change in that year. Be sure when you change these parts, pull your battery terminals off (Negative first) for a couple of minutes to erase codes, then put back on, (positive first), and tighten. My guess is you'll feel like your driving a new car.

One other thing, Just in case, pull your oil dipstick & smell it for gas smell. If it was sending too much fuel, it may have trickled past rings into oil pan, thus thining out your oil with gas. Not good at all, so if in doubt, when all's running well, change oil & filter, but don't go to far before you do. If you do smell or suspect gas in oil, change it before you go anywhere, and save your engine.

How to replace fuel pump on 87 dodge aries station wagon

There's no access hole. Need to drop fuel tank. You also need a special tool to release the fuel lines. They can be purchased at autozone or similar for a reasonable price.

I am currently working on a '87 Dodge Aries Le station wagon. It turns over but wont start unless you pour gas directly into the carburator but it dies seconds later. i have no idea what could be wron

I am currently working on the same car, the one im working on is a K though (wagon), but same engine. What I found the issue to be is a bad fuel line.

Its actually a 87 dodge aries k car. My gear

I have an 87 aries wagon that it happened to. Spray lots of WD-40 on it. It is usually due to a rusty/corroded cable, and wd-40 should loosen it up. Take the cable off of the lever, and see if you can shift it out of "1st gear" if you can't or if it's tough, spray some WD-40 in/on the cable, and hold the clutch in, and shift to random gears a bunch of times. it may take a few sprayings, but if the cable isn't too far gone, you can do that. it wouldn't hurt to spray it on the lever where it pivots.

Codes for 1988 dodge aries

The codes can be pulled from this car by turning the key to off on off on off on then on the forth time leave the key in the on position and observe the check engine light it will blink in two number codes for example 3 blinks then a pause and 2 more blinks would mean code #32. Here is a link to the codes table:

http://www.troublecodes.net/chrysler/95_25sfi.shtml

These codes for a 95 2.5 should be the same for your 88.

Sincerely,
