I hope I understand this correctly. Here are some belt part numbers that will By-pass the AC. Check out Bosch part number 6PK890, which is 890mm effective length. If you have a Napa close to you, their part number 25-060355.

SOURCE: air conditioner is not cooling

Are you sure the compressor is engaging? It normally wont engage if the line pressure is to low(meaning the system is out of freon.)

SOURCE: Air conditioner compressor has seized; would like

NO sorry ,you will have to take it off and get it recoed and refitted OR take it into the AIR con people so they can fit a new or recoed one so you can be safe and with out having troubles again .
As its only the bearings in the front pully but they can cause a lot of problems when they fly off in bits.

Air conditioner bypass belt length

There is no such belt, you must install an AC delete pulley (goes where compressor went) if avaialbe.

Do I have to remove the air conditioner compressor on a 1996 buick roadmaster so I can install a air conditioner bypass pulley for serpentine belt?

Yes, the bypass pulley fits into the same area that the compressor will have to be removed from.

If it's for fuel efficiency, some people just remove the wiring/plug from the compressor and tape it to the side so that it won't engage, if the clutch isn't damaged it's the same as using a bypass pulley.

Also, the clutch can be replaced and used instead of the bypass pulley, in the event it is bad, retaining the ability to go back to an A/C system should you ever desire.

Good luck !

How do I replace the altenator belt on a 1996 Nissan Maxima?

Just loosen up the BOLT in the alternator, the one that holds the bracket, and u can move/slide the ALTERNATOR assembly. If the A/C compressor belt is blocking the removal of belt, loosen up the compressor and slide it to free up the belt! Now u could replace the alternator belt!
Installing will be easier!

Air conditioner

The squeeling is the belt because the air compresor is likely seizing. At idle it can't turn the compressor, in motionthe compressor probably turns and cools the air. Most air conditioners come on when the defroster is on.

My air conditioner compressor is frozen, the alternator belt is running off of the AC pulley. Does any one make a pulley system to replace the compressor unit so I do not have to replace compressor. Car is...

An easier solution and much cheaper would be to buy a shorter belt.

To find out what size belt you need simply run the route with a piece of string excluding going round the AC pulley. Measure the length in MM, then count the groove in the original belt.

Lets say the length of the string works out at say 1202mm and you have 6 grooves in the original belt, that will make the belt part number 6FPK1202

Call the local parts centre and ask for the nearest they have to that number.

The width (6 groove) must remain the same but the length (1202) can alter slightly as you can take up slack on the belt tensioner.

Hope that is worth 4 thumbs up!!

Will go into gear but wont move

Hello ! You said belt makes a noise and it goes into gear...? I have seen this on Maximas and it was a siezed ( frozen) AC compressor...I would try to remove the belt that is attached to the air conditioning compressor and see if it runs. If it runs ok you either have to replace the compressor or match up a smaller belt and bypass it if possible. If this does not help you may need to have it looked at by a professional to diag as there are other possibilities. I hope this helps to some degree.
