VW Jetta 2003 1.9 TDI trunk does not want to open with remote My Jetta trunk recently started to give me problems without warning. I cannot get the trunk open with the remote. The trunk only opens manually using the key. All other electrics of the car seem to be working 100%. If I activate the remote, everything opens, except the trunk lock. All the fuses are in order and if you disconnect the trunk lock motor from the car wiring system and connect the electrical motor lock to an external power source the electrical trunk lock works. The alarm work 100%. The trunk light goes out when the trunk is closed. Any suggestions? Regards Pieter

Was anything stolen?

I read where the keyless entry fob/remote can be used to open the windows remotely. Is it possible the button was inadvertently pushed while in your pocket/purse/etc?

Couple days ago the battery on my 2002 VW Jetta died. I was able to started and charge the battery again, but now the remote opener (key) opens only driver door and the other 3 doors are not responding.

Try removing Neg (-) cable wait a few minutes replace cable and see if it resets.

Where is the fuel door opener lever/switch on a 2003 vw jetta? it looks like there is a place on the driver side door and its missing...there is also a key-lock there.

Maybe someone was a bit to energetic opening the fuel door

When I pulled the latch to open the gas door on my 2003 VW Jetta TDI, it fell into the door panel. Now, I can't open the gas door to put gas in my car. How can I get the gas door open now?

you will need to remove the door panel to pt switch back in place but there may be a pll cord in trunk on the same side as fuel door

Fuel Door Switch does not work nor does all door unlock

You have to pull off the wheel well liner in the trunk to get to the cable.

2003 VW Jetta trunk does not open

most likely cause is latch cover plastic has broken and got lodged in the latch mechanism. now the fun part, fold down back seat , slide into trunk with a phillips screwdriver a flashlight and a large strait blade screwdriver, once in trunk remove trunk cover, then with strait blade unlatch the trunk. once lid is open remove latch and take out broken plastic to free up latch and reinstall then retest before closing trunk.

Trunk wont open on my 2001 vw tdi jetta

when you hit the key and hear the motor push down on the trunk a few time. quick and hard like you are doing a cpr chest compression. I know it seems counter intuitive to push down to open the trunk but it just may get it un stuck. I know someone who had to do this every so often to get in their trunk

Trunk lid is very stiff to open/close

the hinges for the trunk will need replacing. not the shocks. about $60 a piece from VW. do it yourself about 4 bolts. just get someone to hold the trunk for you. its not necessary to paint the new hinges

It is your wiring coming out of the trunk on the left side. One of the wire are cut because in cold weather when you open the trunk, wire can't move easily in the plastic tube. Sorry for my english.
