Can the switch be bypassed & put on a manual switch?
You can put those on an independent switch. The sensor for the gauge is mounted on the bottom of the coolant inlet neck on the left side of the engine, it is actually called an Electronic Thermoswitch. The fan relay has most likely gone bad. Here's the fan relay location, remove the kick panel above driver side feet. It's the one behind the big #287. Double check on the coolant sensor located behind the engine on the drivers side.

Hi,
I have the same car, and also don't have a manual. I found out to set the clock, pull lightly on the dial in front of the display. The display will blink and all you need to do is twist slightly to set time, date, etc. Hope this helps! How do you love it so far??

SOURCE: 2001 Audi A6 how to bypass the original amp
Hi there,
The stock amp (mounted inside the sub enclosure) found on the RHS of the boot behind the pull out pannel has a red plug with 8 twisted pairs of wires and 3 other wires (pos, acc and earth).
Out of the twisted pairs you will have
RHS Rear Speaker: Blue/Gray +, Gray/Blue -
LHS Rear Speaker: Red/Gray +, Gray/Red -
You will also have a pair of White/Blue and Brown/White which is the RHS input and a White/Red Brown/White pair for the LHS input. Although... the stock amp uses a common earth input as you will see, the two Brown/White wires going into the same plug.
To put in another amp, you will need one with 'high level' input. Make sure it can take a common ground type input. If it cannot then just use a "high level to RCA" converter.
If you are putting in an after market headunit like i did, then you will just need to separate the two brown/white wires at both ends. If you do this you will need to test which brown/white wire at the head unit end is paired with which wire at the amp end. They are twisted together at the amp end but not at the headunit end (unless you cut the cloth tape back far enough).

No Manual BUT I can tell you that All Door Pannels are attached By A Combo of SNAP Fasteners And Hidden Screws, Most Parts Stores Have the Tool Cor Pannel Removal"SNAPS" And If you LOOK VeryHard the Screws Can Be Found Some are Covered By Small Plastic Covers Witch a Flathead Screwdriver will Remove.
I Hope this Helps You
