You can put those on an independent switch. The sensor for the gauge is mounted on the bottom of the coolant inlet neck on the left side of the engine, it is actually called an Electronic Thermoswitch. The fan relay has most likely gone bad. Here's the fan relay location, remove the kick panel above driver side feet. It's the one behind the big #287. Double check on the coolant sensor located behind the engine on the drivers side.

SOURCE: 2002 Audi A6 - clock adjustment

Hi,

I have the same car, and also don't have a manual. I found out to set the clock, pull lightly on the dial in front of the display. The display will blink and all you need to do is twist slightly to set time, date, etc. Hope this helps! How do you love it so far??

SOURCE: 2001 Audi A6 how to bypass the original amp

Hi there,

The stock amp (mounted inside the sub enclosure) found on the RHS of the boot behind the pull out pannel has a red plug with 8 twisted pairs of wires and 3 other wires (pos, acc and earth).

Out of the twisted pairs you will have

RHS Rear Speaker: Blue/Gray +, Gray/Blue -
LHS Rear Speaker: Red/Gray +, Gray/Red -

You will also have a pair of White/Blue and Brown/White which is the RHS input and a White/Red Brown/White pair for the LHS input. Although... the stock amp uses a common earth input as you will see, the two Brown/White wires going into the same plug.

To put in another amp, you will need one with 'high level' input. Make sure it can take a common ground type input. If it cannot then just use a "high level to RCA" converter.

If you are putting in an after market headunit like i did, then you will just need to separate the two brown/white wires at both ends. If you do this you will need to test which brown/white wire at the head unit end is paired with which wire at the amp end. They are twisted together at the amp end but not at the headunit end (unless you cut the cloth tape back far enough).

My audi a6 4.2 transmission slips bad when car heats up what causes this?

At this point you need a complete rebuild
Once the slipping starts the clutches are burnt

After the trans is broken down then you may be
told what caused the problem but I doubt it

If you don't change the trans & power steering fluids
every 3 years you loose the trans & the steering rack
will be next & then all your other vehicles the same

Same for brake fluid--every 2 years or big dollars
for ABS Unit

Audi a6 owner manual

Audi Provides online tutorials for many of their car features via a free service called Audi Technology Defined.

Simply select your car (Audi A6), your tutorial, and get set to learn! You can find it here: http://microsites.audiusa.com/ngw/09/experience/technology/?csref=inid_technology

An owners manual is always a good thing to have. I would contact a local dealership and have them order an owner's manual for you as well.

Audi A6 2005 wond start

If you have headlights and dash warning lights but no crank, it could be a problem with the starter, key switch or the neutral safety switch, or the anti-theft system.
If you don't have lights it could be the battery or a cable problem.

How to find Audi a3 1.8t sport relay switch for coolant fan.

Haven't heard of a relay switch for coolant fan. You must be talking about thermoswitch which starts your coolant fan when coolant reaches a certain temperature. Normally it is fitted on the radiator itself

My xenon headlights on my 99 Audi A6 don't always

I recently tried the DIY service and repair manuals from a website and it actually helped me repair transmission problem in my jcb 3cx site-master. It would'nt move forward or reverse, engine was good both solenoids for forward and reverse worked, but still couldn't diagnose the problem.
I don't have much technical knowledge but I just followed it step-wise, and now it works perfect!
covers wiring, codes, diagrams, torque specs, PCV, everything
got it from www.reliable-store.com

I have an audi a6 2002 & need to program remote. replaced battery and doesnt work. read other ways to program, but i only have one key... thanks

hi 8,
so you want to do it yourself... if to program car key of 2002 audi a6,
i think SBB key programmer is ok, it's a handheld car key programmer, and not very difficult to use.
and VVDI 8.6 is also a good tool for you, it's a multi-function tool specially for audi vw cars, but it's a little expensive, so...it's up to you

good luck and greetings

Need to replace the mirror switch on my Audi 1999 A6. Can't figure out how to remove center console.

I replaced mine a few years ago and don't remember having to remove the center console. I think I just "popped" it out. If I find the instructions I used I'll post them.

The radiator fan doesn't seem to be working. I

Fan fuse is located in the underbonnet fuse box Check that power is going to fan with a test probe because it could also be the thermoswitch
