What vehicle is this light on? Is this a single light or more than one? A battery symbol usually means a problem with the charging system or the battery. Get a good auto electrician to 'load test' the battery and test the output from the alternator

Did you check for B+ voltage on the heavier gage wire on the back of the alternator , how wires in the connector to alternator ? Is the battery symbol lit on the instrument cluster ? Depending on the make ,model an year vehicle it could have a computer controlled charging system . There are some good videos on testing charging systems on youtube !

Hi Ken, The battery symbol is indicating that there is a problem with the charging system. Check and make sure the belt is okay and if it is check the 'Alt' fuse in the fuse box. If that one is good check the fusible link and then the alternator. Regards John
ok get power to truck turn key to on position pull plug off altenater one of then should be hot its call an exciter wire to excit the altenater to starg charging but first before all that check the alt. fuse inside your truck
