On my 2001 Bentley Arnage it has two batterie's. 1x 12v-70amp and 1x 12v-60 amp. I am now told that I can use the same batt i.e 12v-70 amp.Is this correct? Can I be advised on how to change the battery as there seems to be a bleeder pipe coming off the battery terminal, which is not on the new battery. How do I remove the old batterie's?
The right hand battery supplies the engine cranking current and so is of a type that has a high cranking performance. This has an effect on the amp/hr performance. The left hand battery is of the deep draw kind able to supply a low current for a long time. Both batteries are only connected to each other and charging when the ignition is on. Manual charging would be one side at a time. If the left has gone flat switch on the ignition for a while before trying to crank. The car works fine with the same batteries in but not Bentley fine.
Yes you can what you like providing it fits in the hole ,now check the air vent as some new type batteries are sealed units and dont have one but some are blanked off with a plastic plug which you pull out and fit the vent pipe to it .Now as for physicaly changing a battery then look for how its clamped in or a strap over the top as i have never worked on this model vehicle

Hi Bill,
I now have the workshop manual set that covers the Bentley Arnage
(1998-2009).
Please let me know if you still need this.
Thanks again,

Know a fellow with a Bentlet He basically has to keep battery on atricle charger most of the time or it won't start. You don't always get what you pay for!
