Rear brake light function not working

My Ford Ranger rear brake/turn lampsare ok and no blown fuses. The lamps work OK as turn signaling and the other lamp elements work OK as running lamps. The lens for each side only has two bulbs, one for reverse and the two element bulbs for brake/run/turn. I suspect there is some turn flasher/brake electrical module or internal to the flashers to operate brake lighting. Also verified the cab-over third brake light works OK. Can anyone help?

No brake lights,no tail lights and no turn signals.I do have headlights

IS there front park lights? Sounds as if the multi-function switch is defective. The brake lights/park lights to rear run through this switch as well as the signals. ( common problem )

Left rear turn light wont work, bulb and fuses are ok.

Does the left brake light work? (only relevant if your signal and brake light are on a double element bulb in the same lamp assembly). Not relevant if you have an amber t/s light separate from the brake light. If the t/s and brake are in the same lamp housing and the brake light works the wiring is ok and the turn signal switch needs to be checked. If neither work a wire or connector is open circuited; or the ground for the lamp socket is not made. Hope this helps.

1995 ford windstar gl and only the top mount brake lamp is illuminating. Checked all fuses and bulbs and they are all ok. the rear lower 2 lamps illuminate when the lights are on, they just don't brighten...

Sounds like maybe a bad turn signal switch. If the brake and turn signal use the same bulb than the turn signal switch will interrupt the brake signal and supply a turn signal to the bulb. Usually you can wiggle the switch while holding the brake pedal down and get them to intermittently work. If that happens than for sure the switch has failed.

The ford explorer sport track. Will have a short either at the plug of the multi-function switch or 6 inches down where the column bends the wires during tilt.

1965 ford mustang...rear turn signals, rear emerg flashers & brake lights not working.

Are the rear bulbs OK?
Is the ground good at the rear?are the sockets good?
Are there tail lights and a license plate light?then the ground is OK.
All the things that you say do not work go through the signal light switch....it may need replacing.
First make sure the bulbs and fuses are OK and power is getting to the signal light switch and to the brake light switch.
Nice car!

Are your hazard lights and/or reverse lights working? I can't remember which ties in with your brake lights but one of them do.
