Front heat works very well but when you turn on the rear heat, it only blows cold air. Ive tried switching both to the front and rear controls with no change. Ive confirmed both dials are turned to the hottest settings. Any help would be appreciated. Ive been told theirs a valve somewhere that I can replace but not sure where it is or how it works
The rear temp blend door is stuck in the cold position ,very common problem on vehicles with rear HVAC units . There is no valve , electric actuator !
Air Temperature Actuator
The air temperature actuator is a 3 wire bi-directional electric motor. Ignition 3 voltage, ground and control circuits enable the actuator to operate. The control circuit uses a 0-12 volt linear-ramped signal to command the actuator movement. The 0 and 12 volt control values represent the opposite limits of the actuator range of motion. The values in between 0-12 volts correspond to the positions between the limits.
When the HVAC control module sets a commanded, or targeted, value, the control signal is set to a value between 0-12 volts. The actuator shaft rotates until the commanded position is reached. The module will maintain the control value until a new commanded value is needed.

SOURCE: I have a 2000 pontiac
check your wiring harness where it hugs the engine on the right front side, because of vibration this area is prone to broken and shorted wires

Make sure your useing the correct bulb and its pluged in the right way, if your sure of that, than check your ground a poor ground could do that, when there is a bad ground, it will travel thru the positive to find a ground maybe overloading it. There is a chanse it could be a bad break light switch. You can chk. that by applying the breaks for a little wile and let off and feel the switch and see if its excessively warm or hot.

SOURCE: Light burned out on radio/clock dial - how to fix?
Sorry there is no quick fix for this problem. If it's the face plate that light's up, there are some electronic shops that can fix it for under the cost of a new after market radio. Just keep in mind there the junk yard has lot's OEM radio's waiting to be bought.

Very little heat in defrost mode good heat in other modes tho, heater blower filters have been changed. Seems to blow cool air in defrost mode, antifreeze is good to -40 deg celcius, good heat in vent floor mode otherwise good, the local GM dealership mechanics are stumped. Anyone having the same problem, would you be so kind as to let me know what it could be? Any help immensley appreciated.
Confused
Same cold-rear-air problem here. Traced it down to no vacuum at the rear airbox vent control (located in the trunk area, driver side, where the blower motor sits), however, I can't for the life of me trace down where the vacuum line comes out to the engine... maybe under the dash somewhere?
my fan does not blow anything wife said it was making noise now nothing and i can't find the fan can any one tell me where it is in a 2000 montana
