When engine is cool, take off radiator cap, and fill radiator. Then fill the coolant recovery container to halfway between the full cold mark and the full hot mark. Start engine (with radiator cap still off) and wait for the thermostat to open (upper radiator hose will get hot). Shut off engine, top up radiator, and put the radiator cap on. Fill the coolant recovery tank to the full hot mark. You should mix the water and anti-freeze in a 50/50 mix before putting it in the car, you know. Cheers.
Hi there!
First.- with the engine off and cool, put a flush and drain radiator cleaner run the engine for 10 minutes, turn it off, let it cool down.
Once the engine is not too hot, open the lowest hose of radiator while you put water in the main mouth of radiator.
Once you see the water flushing clear, put the hose back and then fill it with special GM antifreeze, (the one is orange color) put all gallon into it and the rest of water, LOOK FOR THE ONE YOU CAN ADD WATER, THAT'S THE BEST FOR YOUR VAN... Good Luck!
at the bottem on the left or the side there is a small key like screw ( righty tighty lefty lucy } then u must remove the radiator cap and also remove the themastate be sure to attach the therma housing and hose and unatch it at the top of the radiator the put water hose in the open cap area and flush for 20 mins turn on engine and let run for 2 min and repeat flushing untill all antifrez desapears. be sure to put every back tack pitchures as you remove so to put back the same way it might be good to get new thermastate
Rusty is from running a bad or no mix of coolant. (PH level is off) You may have a water pump that has corroded impellers, and can't move the coolant as well any more. I would start by making sure to flush the engine block again, and make sure you flush water through every possible hose, and where you can get at it.
Well you take out the down hose, all the coolant in the radiator will go, remove the radiator cap put a water hose in the radiator, then open the tap .Let the water flows until you see clear water going out from the down hose. When finish put back the down hose like it was, then put your coolant in the radiator, then it is finished the flushing.
Hello drain the water from the radiator by removing the hose from the radiator to the water pump, after having taken out the hoses, then unscrew the bolts that hold the water pump. After having taken the pump, clean the surface where the pump is fitted on the engine. Now when putting, the new pump, put a clear layer of silicone gasket on the surface where the pump will fit to prevent leakage, now you screw the bolt to the same torque, then after put the hose back like it was before, fill your radiator ,do not put the cap now, because of an air lock in the water circuit, start the engine, you will see the water level lower, fill it to its level, then put the radiator cap.Hope that help you in changing the pump, good luck
on the radiator there is a bolt on the the bottom of the radiator,u must unscrew it ,this is point to service the radiator, well you have already unscrew that bolt the water in the radiator will go out, then take out the radiator cap then put a water hose in the radiator now see the dirt going out from the service point, let the dirty water goes until you see clear water goes out ,now you can close the water tap ,screw the bolt, the service point,by then u can put an antirust solution in the radiator, and fill the rest with water, put the radiator cap,and your radiator is up to date
When engine is cold, take out the thermostat. Put back everything add water as needed to the radiator, leave the radiator cap out. Start the engine be careful stand in front of the radiator and where the radiator cap goes watch if the water is circulating rev it slowly and the water should circulate faster. If it is not circulating the radiator maybe clogged, inside the cylinder head where coolant circulates might be clogged or the water pump is not working.
remove coolant.remove thermostat remove bottom radiator hose to water pump.put a empty container under the radiator.take a water hose put it where thermostat goes flush out the rust in block.watch the water as it come out the water pump .if stream water is small keep flushing until you get a study sream of clear water. also flush out radiator. lower water pressure dont flush radiator it with high water pressure you could burst it. make clean the over flow jug .make sure it not stopped up.put in a new thermostat and radiator pressure cap. fill radiator with half antifreeze and half water.bleed the coolant system.
