Oil leaking when running cant tell where but its coming from but it leaves a trail on the ground. Thats how quick it leaks out
SOURCE: Oil leak near Oil Sensor of 1990 Lincoln Towncar.
The wires are attached to the oil sensor with a small clip. Disconnect the wire from the oil sending unit by simply pulling it off the unit. Use a deep socket (1 1/16) to remove unit.
Testimonial: "Got the wire off. Looks like a special socket to get the sensor off. Thanks for the fast response"
SOURCE: my oil filter is leaking and it is tight
If anyone else has this problem, I'm betting its your oil filter adapter gasket. Of course check to see if the problem is just a bad oil filter seal but mine was not. The oil filter adapter is like 10 - $15 at Auto Zone or Napa. If you feel you can't do the job yourself then take it to the auto repair shop. It's only four bolts and change out the gasket but you must drain the coolant cause the water run through the same housing and it's kind of a pain to get to on the vehicle. Napa gasket p/n is 70801
SOURCE: OIL LEAK & COIL PROBLEM
The oil leak will only cause a COP Coil Misfire---IF,the valve cover O'Ring is leaking oil, onto the spark plug.
If you have a PO304 Code with the check engine MIL Light on,then replace the COP Coil on #4.
Please DO NOT GO TO A DEALER. It is a WASTE OF MONEY
A 12 year old could change a coil, on your LS
All you need is a 7mm socket and wrench, for the coil cover and the one coil screw.
I just did one on my 2004 LS V8 in Feb. It was $59.00 at the local auto parts store
I don't dislike dealers, there is just no reason to go there ,except to buy parts, and only when the parts are dealer only.
Any repair shop can work on any vehicle.
If you ever have issues and you will have lots,I have all the shop manuals and wiring diagrams and Emission Diagnostic manual
