My trunk switch from inside wont open trunk

Remote switch wont open trunk either, have to manually use key to open trunk. Is there a fuse for this?

    I have a problem with my 2001 Lincoln LS, My trunk will not close therefore the indicator light stays on. "TRUNK AJAR" Where can I get this fixed and what is the problem

Yes, it has a fuse but I do not have a diagram unfortunately. Or it could be your indicator switch on the inside driver's side of the trunk. The remote will not work if the trunk is already open OR if the switch is bad/not contacting the stopper (at the base of the trunk) and falsley telling the PCM that the trunk is ajar. But if this were the problem, your should be getting a warning that your "trunk is ajar" from the onboard warning display on the guage cluster. The switch is cheesy...had to replace mine.

check the fuse panel.... owners manual should list which fuse number is the trunk release. If fuse is blown, a new fuse may allow release of trunk. If latch release is bad or shorted out... the fuse may blow immediately.
