I had the same problem with the same car. Dealer told me I would have to replace the fixture. I am too stubborn to do this and just live with it.

SOURCE: how do i remove the cover to replace the dome light

I have no experience with this particular car, but on most cars' dome lights if there are no screws visible, the clear lens itself pops out. Try this with a flathead screwdriver or a quarter. Try doing this to each side with gradually increasing pressure.

SOURCE: door lock not unlocking for 2001 honda civic lx

You may get lucky by spraying penetrating spray like WD-40 inside & all around the latch assembly on door. Use that little red nozzle to get around in behind as far as you can, as well as try to get it along back of sides as well. That will allow it to run down on linkage to locks etc & hopefully free things up & get them moving better. Once it's freed up again, give it a coat of white lithium spray grease and use tube same as you did with penetrating spray, to avoid/prolong repeat in near future. Let spray work a bit then start moving lock manually at first, then try using power after it feels easier, and then keep working both until power lock works good. Don't go crazy & overheat power lock motor, give it a few minutes after trying 5-10 times, before trying again.

SOURCE: how do you replace the dome light on a 2005 civic

Look on the sides of the dome light and look for a tiny little notch in the plastic. Take a screwdriver and gently pry at the notch and it should just pop out

It sounds like you have either a wiring issue or fuses blown. If the battery was hooked up in reverse it could have blown the ignition fuse which would impact the described systems. If I can assist further, reach me at https://www.6ya.com/thericepatch

assuming that the light actually works, the problem is probably in the door jamb switch. does the door chime work? if not, there's your problem

2001 honda civic in past had warning signal if left headlights on. no longer working. where do i find fuse? if it is a fuse? how do i fix.

One common thing is the drivers door switch. When you open your door, does the dome light come on? If not then you should replace the door switch,it is located on the door jamb.

I'm not 100% sure but I'm almost positive MOST of those are on the same fuse. Check your fuses and make sure that they're all ok and if not, reply back with more information.

Check you drivers side door switch. Make sure it works. The switch also work the dome light. If the dome light comes on and off when you open and close the door that you dont have a buzzer.
