Location of crank sensor on renault megane 1.6, 2004

okay , it needs service in a real shop.
what does it do now.
is the starter dead?
keep in mind we can not see the car , drive it or hear the
starter motor fail or not.

side of the engine sit's near to the bottom of the engine not the sump part.

Sounds like coil pack is bracking down

Sorry big time here but this is a renault of which is the bane of my life as the software is all encrypted on this earlier model up too 2012 and the only people who can read the software codes on this car is the dealer ,it also has a electric motor for the power steering which can cause this fault as well plus a computer excited alternator,in fact this heap of a car is a mechanics nightmare and i would respectfully suggest thast you sell it quick and buy a ford focus or a opel vectra

cam sensor is black sensor next to coil no1 need to remove coil for access to sensor. no1 is gearbox side.

hi sarah your problem is related to a speedometer sensor switch located on the gearbox its an electrical speedo on the megans, its fairly handy to replace, and if you were to go into any renault garage and purchase the part by giving the year make and model any garage will fit this within 10 min cheeper than renault dealership , goodluck

my warning light comes on saying "check emissions" and the manual tells me to go to my Renault dealer immediately. What is wrong? Can we drive the car normally for any distance

car won't stat when clutch is pressed in,but will only start when brake is pressed in.
