SOURCE: I got a check engine
That has nothing to do with the transmission. That is an emissions control sensor. It could be a dirty or faulty sensor, restricted (dirty) supply tube, or a faulty PCM.
SOURCE: 1996 Corolla Auto Transmission problem
Hi. 2005 Corolla CE. It's normal. They tend to do this when upshifting form 1st to 2nd gear. No timing chain readjustment needed.
96 Corolla. Overdrive not working properly, if not engaging after 45mph constantly. If driving on the city, is normal, but not after 45mph, when the car is trying to engage overdrive in order to save gas and preserve the trans gears. If not able to get help at the dealership, find another one and explain them the situation.
SOURCE: transmission fluid change
It differs with use but for a rule of thumb you can look at the fluid on the dipstick against a white cloth and if it brown to black looking not a reddish color you should have it serviced.Either a drain and fill or a complete trans flush if it is black.Your trans will thank you

The code you have is not for the trans,so I Have no idea why a dealer would scare you
I am pretty sure that it is. There is plenty of documentation to indicate it has to do with the transmission.
I can't find any documentation on your vehicle for anything & PO 471 is a Generic Code for Exhaust Pressure Sensor Range/Performance. Maybe PO 741 for T
Torque Converter Clutch in the trans
